DHL Express has appointed Abdulaziz Busbate as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, starting January 1, 2025.
Busbate will take over from Nour Suliman, who recently transitioned to a non-executive advisory role within DHL Group as President MENA. Based in Bahrain, Busbate will report to DHL Express CEO John Pearson.
With 24 years of experience at DHL Express, Busbate’s career began in Saudi Arabia, where he led various commercial teams and contributed significantly to the company’s growth. In 2014, he moved to Bahrain as Country Manager, focusing on service enhancement and commercial development. Most recently, Busbate returned to Saudi Arabia as Managing Director in 2021, where he spearheaded key initiatives, including service quality improvements, infrastructure investments, and local workforce development.
“Abdulaziz’s extensive experience and understanding of the MENA market will be crucial as we continue to expand and innovate in this strategically important region,” said Pearson. “His leadership will strengthen our commitment to our customers and our team across the Middle East and North Africa.”
Reflecting on his new role, Busbate said, “I’m honored to lead this exceptional team and build on our strong foundations in this diverse and entrepreneurial region. My focus will be on reinforcing DHL’s leadership in MENA, driving growth, and delivering exceptional service. We’ll also continue our commitment to being a Great Place to Work and advancing sustainable logistics in the communities we serve.”
