FIAT Professional to unveil E-Ducato Cargo Box at IAA this week

The E-Ducato Cargo Box is a large van designed with remarkable cargo capacity and an exceptionally spacious interior, says FIAT Professional

FIAT Professional’s new E-Ducato Cargo Box is set to make its world premiere at Europe’s largest trade fair for commercial and industrial vehicles.

Debuting at IAA Transportation 2024, the E-Ducato Cargo Box is a large van designed with remarkable cargo capacity and an exceptionally spacious interior, making it a flagship example of FIAT Professional’s new CustomFit conversion and personalisation programme.

The vehicle will be available for sale from October 2024, and was manufactured entirely at FIAT Professional’s state-of-the-art Atessa facility in Italy.

Through the new FIAT Professional CustomFit project, the company says it controlled every aspect of the conversion process in-house, ensuring unmatched attention to detail. This approach guarantees that each vehicle is tailored to meet the unique demands of its customers, added the Italian brand.

In addition to the Cargo Box, FIAT Professional’s versatile conversion options cater to a wide range of business requirements. Available configurations include the Drop Side, 1-Way Tipper, 3-Way Tipper, and the Crew Van. These options offer solutions for everything from construction tasks to passenger transport, all while maintaining ample cargo space.

At its Hanover unveiling, the E-Ducato Cargo Box will feature an impressive cargo volume of 18.3 m³, with interior dimensions of 4,230 mm in length, 2,032 mm in width, and 2,150 mm in height. Built on the Battery Electric Chassis Cab platform, the vehicle boasts a peak torque of 410 Nm and an output of 200 kW (270 hp), powered by a 110-kWh battery, making it an efficient and powerful electric van.

For businesses requiring additional cargo space, the E-Ducato will also be offered in the L4 configuration, expanding the cargo volume to 20.5 m³, with an interior length of 4,500 mm and height of 2,300 mm. Both configurations will be available in fully electric (BEV) and diesel variants, with engine options ranging from 140 hp to 180 hp, available in both manual and automatic transmissions.

Standard Cargo Box features include anti-slip wooden floor protection, aluminium baseboards, an automatic detection ceiling light, and a padded 2-in-1 profile for secure fastening of cargo. Customers can further customise their vehicles with a wide range of optional features, including over-cab storage pods, lateral doors, and tail lifts. Additionally, the vehicle offers standard rear swing doors, with a tailgate rear door as an optional version.

The launch follows the recent introduction of the MultiJet 4.0 engine and the advanced AT8 8-speed automatic transmission. The MultiJet 4.0 engine delivers class-leading torque of 450 Nm, making it the best in its category for front-wheel-drive large vans.

Paired with the AT8 transmission, the combination reduces CO2 emissions by up to 10%, reflecting FIAT Professional’s dedication to reducing environmental impact while maintaining performance.
