Al-Futtaim Automotive says it is gearing up to show why it is the ‘preferred mobility partner of choice across all sectors’, especially aviation, through a host of ‘flagship unveilings and showcases’ at the upcoming Abu Dhabi Air Expo.
The automotive group has confirmed it will using its ‘vast’ stand at the show to demonstrate the next-generation Volvo XC90, Toyota Land Cruiser and Lexus LX, as well as future mobility options such as the Polestar 2, Volvo C40 and the Volvo 7900 Electric Bus.
Also, featuring alongside will be, what the firm describes as favoured aviation sector solutions including the TMH Electric Forklift, Towing Tractors and Hertz shuttle cars.
Speaking ahead of the event, Vincent Wijnen, Senior Managing Director Al-Futtaim Automotive said: “The Abu Dhabi Air Show is an excellent opportunity to showcase our full line-up of models, services and innovations, from B2C to B2B offerings, which is testament to Al-Futtaim Automotive being recognised as a trusted mobility partner across diverse industries.
“At the same time, it’s a great occasion to showcase how we are committed to developing hybrid and electric mobility solutions that not only align with the UAE’s sustainability goals but also help customers and businesses across sectors achieve their sustainability targets.”

Expected to be one of the featured sector highlights are the new Volvo Electric buses, which have completed a successful six-month passenger trial in the UAE earlier this year, followed by successful trials run in selected hot climate markets of Europe and Latin America. Performing with zero-emissions and zero-noise, the Volvo electric buses offer a whole new dimension of sustainable transport and smart city solution.
The models have been tested for fast-charging for the first time in Dubai, and tested for the impact of our local terrain, temperature and higher need for air-conditioning, which means the buses will truly define a new generation of Middle Eastern mobility.
Beyond the vehicles it provides for both the B2C and B2B sector, Al-Futtaim Automotive also offers alternative ways to drive. In October last year it announced the launch of new car subscription service, MOOV By Al-Futtaim, aimed at providing convenient and sustainable mobility for the growing demand from customers across the UAE.
Approximately 25% of the fleet on MOOV is Hybrid with 100% utilization with an increase in customer demand in hybrid vehicles. MOOV has the ability to capture the customers’ registered interest on vehicles sold out such as our Hybrid vehicles. There is currently a waiting list of customers who have requested to switch over their current subscription from petrol to hybrid, confirming the appetite for greener mobility solutions. Based on the high demand MOOV has several exciting new hybrid vehicles coming to MOOV in the next few weeks and the arrival of first EV model in Q4.
As part of its participation at the event, Al-Futtaim Automotive will host a panel on day 3, 3rd November at 09.55 to discuss ‘Developments in Green Mobility’, with panelists including Vincent Wijnen, Senior Managing Director Al-Futtaim Automotive, Jonathan Pollock, Regional Managing Director of Emerging Brands, Al-Futtaim Automotive and Yousuf AlRaeesi, Director of GCR & HSSE Al-Futtaim Automotive.
