Saudi Arabia’s first electric vehicle (EV) brand, Ceer, has entered a significant partnership with Croatia’s Rimac Technology to equip its flagship EV range with high-performance, fully integrated Electric Drive Systems (EDS).
Ceer is a joint venture between Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF) and electronics giant Foxconn.
The partnership was formalised at a signing event at Rimac’s facility in Croatia, attended by Rimac Technology CEO Mate Rimac and Ceer CEO James DeLuca.
“We are delighted to be the first company and large-scale project in the GCC to partner with Rimac Technology to equip Ceer flagship vehicles with advanced electric drive systems,” said DeLuca. “Rimac’s expertise aligns with our mission to introduce world-class, high-performance EVs and transform Saudi Arabia’s automotive industry.”
Rimac Technology, known for its electrification solutions in high-performance applications, will expand into large-scale projects through this collaboration.
The partnership with Ceer adds to Rimac’s growing portfolio, which includes collaborations with BMW Group, Aston Martin, and Koenigsegg. The company is positioning itself as a leader in supplying high-performance powertrain systems, including electric drive systems and battery technology, to major global manufacturers.
Mate Rimac highlighted the importance of this new venture, saying, “This collaboration with Ceer solidifies Rimac Technology’s global electrification goals. With partnerships like those with BMW Group and Ceer, we’re set to produce tens of thousands of electric drive and battery systems for OEMs worldwide, supported by our expanded facilities in Croatia.”
