ARMS Group has entered into a strategic partnership with Australian clean energy company Pure Hydrogen Corporation Limited, marking a significant move towards the introduction of hydrogen-powered vehicles in the UAE. The agreement, formalised through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), sets the stage for the distribution and sale of Taurus Prime Mover, Hydrogen Fuel Cell (HFC) garbage trucks, and box trucks to the UAE market.
With over 75 years of experience in the industry, ARMS Group manages a diverse portfolio of companies in Dubai, spanning waste management, recycling, manufacturing, trading, real estate, and services.
This new collaboration reinforces ARMS Group’s commitment to promoting sustainable development and supporting the UAE’s ambitious drive toward achieving net-zero emissions by 2050, said the firms.
Under the terms of the MOU, Pure Hydrogen will supply both battery electric (BEV) and hydrogen fuel cell electric commercial vehicles to ARMS Group, with the first deliveries expected in 2025. This supply is contingent upon ARMS Group’s approval following due diligence on the vehicles and verification that the equipment complies with UAE operational standards.
The UAE’s Net Zero by 2050 initiative aims to make the country the first in the MENA region to achieve net-zero emissions. The initiative encompasses over 25 programs across six key sectors, including power, industry, transport, buildings, waste, and agriculture. ARMS Group’s partnership with Pure Hydrogen aligns with these goals, positioning the company as a leader in decarbonization efforts within the region.
Abdulrahman Albaidhaei, Chairman of ARMS Group Holding, expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership, stating, “We are thrilled with this collaboration with Pure Hydrogen. Our mission is to become a leading regional provider of hydrogen equipment and vehicles, contributing to the UAE leadership’s vision for sustainable development. This partnership is a key step in promoting clean energy solutions, and we are excited about the positive impact our joint efforts will have on decarbonization in the UAE and the broader GCC region.”
Scott Brown, Managing Director of Pure Hydrogen, also expressed optimism about the partnership, saying, “We are pleased to sign this MOU with ARMS Group, which establishes a framework for hydrogen vehicle and equipment supply as part of the UAE government’s commitment to clean energy alternatives. After extensive negotiations, we are excited to begin working together to implement hydrogen solutions in the Middle East.”
This partnership comes at a critical time as the UAE continues to lead the region in transitioning to clean energy, particularly within the transport and waste management sectors. The collaboration between ARMS Group and Pure Hydrogen signifies an important step in deploying hydrogen-powered vehicles and supporting the nation’s sustainability goals.
As the UAE strives to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050, ARMS Group’s commitment to decarbonization through the introduction of hydrogen vehicles underscores the nation’s leadership in the clean energy transition.
