Geely’s EV pick-up: Testing in the UAE was essential

Riddara has rapidly gained prominence in the electric pickup market and is expected to launch in the Middle East shortly

Riddara, the electric pickup brand from Geely Holding Group, has successfully completed its high-temperature testing phase in the UAE, with the firm telling the market that it was essential ahead of launch.

William Peng, Marketing Senior Manager at Riddara Global, emphasised the importance of the testing, stating, “Testing our vehicles in high-temperature environments like those in the UAE is essential to ensuring that Riddara meets the performance expectations of our customers in the Middle East.”

With the completion of these tests, Riddara is moving closer to its entry into the Middle Eastern market, where it aims to offer consumers electric vehicles that combine advanced technology with reliable performance. The official launch is expected later this year.

The tests, conducted under the extreme heat conditions of the region, mark a crucial step in the brand’s global expansion strategy.

Since its introduction in China in 2022, Riddara has rapidly gained prominence in the electric pickup market. The brand has been expanding its reach into new territories, including Southeast Asia and Latin America.

The UAE testing phase is part of Riddara’s efforts to ensure its vehicles are well-suited to the challenging climates of the Middle East.

The rigorous hot-weather tests are aimed at verifying the performance and reliability of Riddara’s electric pickups under the intense heat conditions typical of the UAE. This testing is particularly important as the brand prepares for its official launch in the region later this year.

William Peng, Marketing Senior Manager at Riddara Global, emphasized the importance of the testing, stating, “Testing our vehicles in high-temperature environments like those in the UAE is essential to ensuring that Riddara meets the performance expectations of our customers in the Middle East.”

Xia Mo, Riddara Global’s Regional Director, highlighted the significance of the testing phase, noting that it reflects the brand’s commitment to advancing electric vehicle technology in diverse global markets.
