PETRONAS Lubricants partners with Goodyear Italia

Partnership is poised to further solidify the market presence of both PETRONAS Lubricants International and Goodyear Italia

PETRONAS Lubricants International (PLI), the division of PETRONAS responsible for manufacturing and marketing lubricants and functional fluids worldwide, has announced a strategic partnership with Goodyear Italia, a leading tyre manufacturer.

This collaboration will see PLI supply its high-quality fluids and lubricants to the SuperService dealer network, a leader in tyre maintenance and innovation with over 330 points of sale across Italy.

This new partnership enables the SuperService network to expand its maintenance and oil replacement services using PLI lubricants, thereby enhancing its multi-service offering. SuperService centres will now have access to the PETRONAS Syntium range for light vehicles, Urania Green for heavy-duty vehicles, and PETRONAS Tutela OM for transmission and coolant needs for both light and heavy-duty vehicles. These products reflect PETRONAS Lubricants International’s commitment to technological innovation, delivering optimal performance with a focus on reducing environmental impact.

The PETRONAS Syntium range will be delivered in PLI’s environmentally conscious Bag In Box (BIB) packaging. This solution, crafted from 100% recyclable cardboard, is UN-certified and complies with all relevant regulations for the transportation of hazardous goods. This packaging not only supports environmental sustainability but also ensures practical handling and storage.

In addition to the product supply, PLI will provide specialised training for SuperService network technicians, equipping them with the skills needed to offer exceptional service and technical knowledge. As part of this initiative, SuperService repairers can attend a comprehensive course on lubricants, gaining deeper insights into product features and their applications. They will also have the opportunity to visit PETRONAS Lubricants Italy facilities in Villastellone (TO) and the Global R&T Centre in Santena (TO) to learn more about the production process and the cutting-edge research and development behind each product.

The partnership was officially launched during the SuperService Convention hosted by Goodyear in Sardinia from 27th to 29th September. The event served as a platform to announce the collaboration and to discuss the evolving automotive market and the challenges it may face in the future.

The alliance between PETRONAS Lubricants International and Goodyear Italia underscores a shared dedication to innovation, quality, and customer satisfaction. By combining their strengths, both companies aim to elevate service standards in the automotive industry, delivering enhanced performance and reliability to their customers.

Ciro Lupo, Business Head for Italy & Africa, commented on the partnership, saying, “We are delighted to collaborate with such a prestigious partner as Goodyear Tires. This partnership allows us to offer our high-quality lubricants to a large distribution network throughout Italy, strengthening our presence in the Italian market and contributing to the growth and innovation of the industry.”

Marco Prosdocimi, Retail Director at Goodyear Tires Italia, added, “We chose PETRONAS Lubricants International as our partner for the SuperService network because it is a company that shares our multi-service approach by providing high-quality products that improve the use of all types of vehicles.”
