United Diesel and Yutong Trucks launch electric trucks into UAE

The TE2 and TE5 trucks are designed to address key logistical challenges while contributing to reduced emissions

Yutong Trucks and United Diesel have officially introduced two new electric trucks, the TE2 and TE5, into the UAE market. This milestone follows their earlier announcement of a strategic partnership made during United Diesel’s 50th Anniversary event.

The launch represents a significant step towards sustainable transportation, in alignment with the UAE’s vision for a greener future, said the companies at the launch event held in the DIP district of Dubai.

David Sawiras, GM of United Diesel, emphasised the potential of this partnership: “Yutong is the perfect partner in this transformation. These vehicles mark a critical step towards a greener economy in the UAE.”

Game-Changing Electric Trucks for the UAE

The TE2 and TE5 trucks are designed to address key logistical challenges while contributing to reduced emissions:

  • TE2: Ideal for last-mile deliveries with a range of up to 220 km and a 2-tonne load capacity.
  • TE5: Suited for warehouse-to-warehouse transport with a range nearing 300 km and a 4-tonne capacity.

Both models come equipped with advanced lithium-ion batteries that can be charged from 20% to 100% in just one hour using 120 kW fast charging. Designed for UAE conditions, the vehicles boast features like a turning diameter of 11.5m and temperature-controlled storage capable of reaching -20°C in under two hours.

Sustainability at the Core

Mazen Dalati, CEO of Al Rostamani, highlighted the company’s commitment to sustainability: “We are committed to delivering the most innovative solutions to the market. Sustainability is at the core of our corporate strategy, but it takes all of us to make this happen.”

Yutong Trucks’ Vincent Jia, Director for the Middle East, added: “With over 20,000 new energy vehicles sold globally, Yutong is a leader in e-trucks. The TE2 and TE5 provide the best solutions for customers transitioning to green logistics. Start with electric, start with Yutong.”

Innovation Meets Practicality

The trucks feature cutting-edge connected technologies designed for operational efficiency. Marketing Manager of United Diesel, Muneeb Saeed, remarked: “These trucks feel like they’ve rolled out of a blockbuster sci-fi movie — with fewer emissions and way cooler technology.”

In collaboration with United Diesel, Yutong Trucks has committed to rapid response times for customer support, further enhancing reliability for fleet operators.

Special Launch Offer

As part of the launch, United Diesel has announced a limited offer for the first 30 units sold. For more details, customers can contact the United Diesel team directly.

Driving Towards Green Logistics

Saeed further highlighted the critical role of commercial vehicles in achieving sustainability goals: “Commercial vehicles account for 20% of the market but contribute 60% of emissions in the UAE. Reliable isn’t enough anymore. We need to embrace quality and sustainability together, and Yutong is the perfect brand to lead this transition.”

With rigorous summer testing, including a 6,000-km trial with Landmark Group, the TE2 and TE5 trucks have proven their ability to thrive in the UAE’s climate and logistics landscape.

The launch of these electric trucks signifies a bold leap forward in the UAE’s journey towards sustainable transportation, paving the way for greener logistics and a brighter future.
