Diesel will be 11.4% more expensive in the UAE from April 1, the Ministry of Energy said in its monthly review of fuel prices.
Diesel – used heavily in the construction, industry and transportation sectors – will cost AED1.56 a litre from the start of next month, up from AED1.40 in March.
Petrol prices will also rise more than 10%, with Super 98 at AED1.62 per litre, Special 95 at AED1.51, and E Plus 91 set at AED1.44.
The government cut its costly subsidies on fuel last year, with officials setting prices monthly, tracking the open market more closely than when the subsidies were in place.
