Lexus has introduced the updated IS350 to the Middle East, marking the latest iteration of its compact front-engine, rear-wheel-drive sports sedan.
First launched in 1999, the IS has long been central to the brand’s driving philosophy, combining sporty styling with dynamic performance. The newest version builds on that legacy with a focus on refinement, aiming to deepen the connection between driver and machine.
The development of the IS350 revolves around the concept of “maturation.” Lexus has sought to enhance the car’s responsiveness and overall driving feel while sharpening its already aggressive design. The result is a more cohesive sports sedan that balances comfort and control, whether in urban settings or on winding roads.
According to Yasushi Muto, Chief Engineer at Lexus International, the goal was to create a more intuitive relationship between driver and car. Engineers worked to ensure that driver inputs are accurately translated into vehicle responses, while feedback from the car remains clear and predictable. This approach guided improvements across performance, safety, and interior design.

Refined dynamics
Driving dynamics have been significantly refined. The Electric Power Steering system now features a variable gear rack, enabling more precise handling with less effort, particularly during cornering and low-speed maneuvers. Stability at higher speeds has also been improved. In addition, updates to the Adaptive Variable Suspension system help absorb road imperfections more effectively while maintaining a strong sense of control, enhancing both comfort and agility.
Safety and driver assistance technologies have also been upgraded. The IS350 comes equipped with an enhanced Lexus Safety System+, offering expanded features designed to support safer driving and reduce fatigue on longer journeys. The inclusion of Lexus Teammate Advanced Drive further strengthens its highway driving capabilities, providing additional assistance to the driver.
Visually, the IS350 adopts a more assertive exterior design. The front fascia has been reworked to emphasize a wider stance and lower center of gravity, reinforcing its sporty character. The F SPORT variant adds further enhancements, including a redesigned rear spoiler for improved aerodynamics and new 19-inch lightweight aluminum wheels. Buyers can choose from eight exterior colors, including the newly introduced Neutrino Gray, which features metallic accents for a more dynamic appearance.

Driver focused
Inside, Lexus has prioritized driver focus and usability. The cockpit has been redesigned to improve visibility and ease of interaction. A larger 12.3-inch center display is positioned within the driver’s natural line of sight, while a matching 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster provides clear and immediate access to key information.
The interior also introduces new design elements, such as “Forged Bamboo” trim, which creates a distinctive layered visual effect using natural materials. A new interior color option, Prominence, inspired by solar flares, adds a bold and energetic feel to the cabin.
Overall, the updated IS350 reflects Lexus’ commitment to blending craftsmanship, advanced technology, and engaging performance. With its combination of refined driving dynamics, enhanced safety features, and modernized design, the model aims to deliver a more rewarding and confident driving experience for customers in the region.
