MAN Truck & Bus showcases TGS 8X4 BB at Project Qatar

MAN Truck & Bus is displaying its latest construction truck for concrete transport, the MAN TGS 8×4 BB, at the 2015 edition of Project Qatar.

The German truck-and-bus manufacturer is participating at the construction exhibition in conjunction with Qatar International Automobiles, its exclusive distributor in the country.

The TGS 8×4 BB has a load variant of 42 tonnes and comes equipped with a 360hp engine, as well as reinforced front and rear springs for heavy duty transport.

“We see enormous potential in the construction industry in Qatar and the continued focus on infrastructure development bodes well for the sector. We hope to build on this and reinforce our leadership position in the commercial vehicle industry in Qatar,” said Franz von Redwitz, managing director of MAN Truck & Bus Middle East.

The construction sector is the biggest market for MAN in Qatar, with almost 90% of its vehicles operating in the segment, said Iyad Jaradat, general manager of Qatar International Automobiles.

“We have a wide portfolio of MAN trucks supporting the construction industry with a multitude of tailor-made options like reinforced axles and springs, heavy duty cooling and filters,” Jaradat said.

The dealer has also opened a 540sqm showroom in Doha next to the Midmac roundabout, with a permanent vehicle display area outdoors. Customers will be able to view a full range of MAN vehicles at the facility, such as three- and four-axle tippers and two-axle tractor heads.
