The Dubai Civil Aviation Authority (DCAA) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Keeta Drones, marking a significant step towards establishing Dubai as a global leader in smart transportation and drone delivery operations. The agreement focuses on ensuring the highest levels of safety and security for drone-based delivery systems while fostering innovation in the emirate’s aviation infrastructure.
The MoU was signed by H.E. Mohammed Abdullah Lengawi, Director General of DCAA, and Dr. Yinian Mao, Chairman of Keeta Drones. The partnership will focus on evaluating and approving designated drone operation zones, addressing infrastructure requirements, reviewing airspace needs, and implementing safety and security protocols to facilitate effective drone delivery operations across Dubai.
Commenting on the collaboration, H.E. Mohammed Abdullah Lengawi highlighted the initiative as part of Dubai’s vision for a cutting-edge transportation ecosystem. “This collaboration highlights the DCAA’s dedication to implementing Dubai’s leadership vision by enabling drone-based delivery and offering innovative infrastructure that allows companies to test their solutions within a safe and model environment,” he stated. Lengawi further emphasized that the initiative seeks to position Dubai as a hub for advanced aviation technologies while maintaining stringent airspace safety and security standards.
Dr. Yinian Mao expressed Keeta Drones’ commitment to supporting Dubai’s vision and adhering to the highest safety standards in drone operations. “This partnership with DCAA marks a long-term collaboration between both parties. With DCAA’s support, Keeta Drones will be able to expedite the expansion of its operations by establishing routes across Dubai, offering more services, and exploring diverse new initiatives,” said Dr. Mao.
The MoU also strengthens joint efforts to regulate drone operations and promote the growth of the low-altitude aviation economy in Dubai. Keeta Drones will work closely with the DCAA to ensure compliance with local regulations and to establish new drone flight paths in coordination with relevant government entities.
