ADNOC Distribution launches first API-certified lubricant for hybrid engines in UAE

The new VOYAGER range is one of the first globally to meet new international standards introduced by the API in May

ADNOC Distribution says it is one of the first companies to launch a range of lubricants for hybrid vehicles to be certified by the world-leading American Petroleum Institute’s (API) newest standards.

The UAE’s largest fuel and convenience store retailer says the new ADNOC VOYAGER range of lubricants “offer greater fuel efficiency for hybrid vehicles.”

VOYAGER follows three new oil standards set by the International Lubricant Specification Advisory Committee (ILSAC) – ILSAC GF-6A, GF-6B and API SP – which were introduced by the API on 1 May 2020.

The new VOYAGER range is one of the first globally to meet these new international standards.

VOYAGER Star Plus HB, is designed specifically for hybrid vehicles, offering fuel savings and engine lubrication protection, said ADNOC Distribution in a statement.

The advanced VOYAGER Star Plus Eco engine oil meanwhile is fully compatible with vehicles manufactured since 2002, and can be used for a variety of cars, including American, Korean, Japanese and European manufactured vehicles.

“We are proud to be one of the first companies in the Middle East to introduce the latest international standards in vehicle oil technology to the UAE and also to some of our core export markets in the GCC as well as throughout Africa and Asia,” said ADNOC Distribution’s acting CEO Ahmed Al Shamsi.

“The new range meets the needs of the latest engine technologies to enable better fuel efficiency, extend an engine’s lifespan and create cost savings for our customers. Our lubricants bring together quality from their very base to the expert technology used to create specific solutions that, together with regular lube change, maintain the efficiency of hybrid engines. ”

The new lubricant is manufactured using ADNOC’s high quality Group III base oil, ADbase, which is produced at its state-of-the art Ruwais refinery in the UAE using ADNOC’s high paraffinic crude oil.

“The high Viscosity Index (VI) of ADbase makes it an ideal lubricant component, ensuring efficiency and fuel economy for high performance engines, whilst meeting ever stringent environmental regulations,” claimed ADNOC Distribution.
