Al Nasr Holding turns to FAMCO Qatar to boost oil and gas operation

FAMCO Qatar signs major agreement to supply 25 Volvo Heavy-Duty FMX460 4x2 Trucks to Al Nasr Holding

Al-Futtaim Auto and Machinery Company (FAMCO) Qatar has successfully sold a significant fleet of Volvo FMX460 4×2 Heavy-Duty Tractor Head trucks to Al Nasr Holding’s Venture Gulf Engineering.

The sale, finalised on May 22, 2024, was commemorated with representatives from both companies present and boosts the Qatari conglomerate’s presence in the oil and gas industry in the peninsular.

The trucks will be immediately deployed by Venture Gulf Engineering, a company that provides services and logistics support to the vital Qatari industry.

The acquisition of 25 new Volvo FMX460 4×2 trucks will substantially bolster logistics capabilities, adding to an existing fleet of 36 Volvo trucks.

The FMX460 model is viewed as a cutting edge tractor-head and is well-regarded for its robust design and the advanced safety features that modern Volvo trucks are lauded for.

The oil and gas industry in the region is one of the few to keep in step with standards seen in other markets. The FMX460 deployed by VGE arrives packing a driver side airbag, roll-over protection, side collision avoidance support, forward collision warning, and a factory-fitted rear camera.

Additionally, the trucks come equipped with Volvo Connect, a propriety system designed to improve fuel efficiency, productivity, and environmental impact, and an FM sleeper cab for driver comfort.

VGE, which was founded 30 years ago, will view this significant investment as a boost to its truck fleet and part of their strategic expansion in Doha, Qatar.

Beyond the 60-plus Volvo truck fleet, the upgrade to the logistics fleet means VGE now owns over 650 heavy vehicles. This will meet the growing demands of the city and provide faster service to clients, says VGE.

Its new location at Ras Laffan Support Service Area will also enhance their service capabilities and support the company’s growth trajectory.

“The addition of these new Volvo FMX460 trucks is a significant step in our expansion strategy,” said a representative from Al Nasr Holding. “These trucks are not only equipped with state-of-the-art safety and efficiency features but also align with our commitment to providing top-notch services to our clients. With the increased capacity and advanced technology, we are well-positioned to meet the rising demands of our projects in Doha and beyond.”

FAMCO Qatar expressed pride in the ongoing relationship with Al Nasr Holding as it continues to make in-roads in a highly competitive market.

“We are thrilled to support Al Nasr Holding in their expansion with the delivery of these advanced Volvo FMX460 trucks,” said a FAMCO representative. “This sale underscores our commitment to providing high-quality, reliable vehicles that meet the rigorous demands of the oil and gas fleet sector in Qatar.”

As the oil and gas industry in Qatar continues to grow, the need for efficient and reliable logistics solutions becomes increasingly critical. The addition of these new trucks to Al Nasr Holding’s fleet is expected to significantly boost their operational efficiency and ability to serve the sector’s needs effectively. With enhanced logistics capabilities, Al Nasr Holding is poised to contribute to the region’s development and maintain its position as a leader in the industry.

The sale of these Volvo trucks highlights the ongoing investment in infrastructure and logistics within Qatar’s oil and gas sector, reflecting the broader economic growth and the strategic importance of modernizing fleet operations to support industry demands.
