Bridgestone named exclusive tyre partner for new Lamborghini Temerario super sportscar

Bridgestone has been rolling out a bespoke range of tyres designed to maximise the super supercar’s performance

Bridgestone, a global leader in premium tyres and sustainable mobility solutions, has been selected as the exclusive tyre partner for aftermar’s latest Hybrid High Performance Electrified Vehicle (HPEV), the Lamborghini Temerario.

As Lamborghini’s ‘Official Technical Partner,’ Bridgestone has developed a bespoke range of tyres designed to maximise the supercar’s performance on and off the track, as well as in challenging winter conditions.

Steven De Bock, Vice President Original Equipment at Bridgestone EMEA, commented on the partnership: “After the Lamborghini Huracán STO, Tecnica, Sterrato, Huracán EVO, and the V12 Hybrid HPEV Lamborghini Revuelto, the Temerario is the latest Lamborghini super sportscar to be equipped with bespoke Bridgestone tyres as original equipment. Its twin-turbo V8 hybrid powertrain with three electric motors makes the Temerario part of a new generation of Hybrid HPEVs offering class-beating performance. As Lamborghini’s ‘Official Technical Partner,’ we’re very excited to continue our journey together as we push the boundaries of electrification and advance a new era of sustainable motorsports.”

Bridgestone has custom-engineered three tyre fitments for the Lamborghini Temerario, each tailored to meet the specific needs of the supercar’s drivers. The tyre lineup includes the Potenza Sport and Potenza Race for summer and track conditions, and a bespoke Blizzak LM005 for winter driving.

The Potenza Sport, part of Bridgestone’s iconic tyre family, features a design that enhances dry and wet handling, as well as high-speed performance, ensuring that the Temerario delivers superior sport behaviour. The ultra-high-performance Potenza Sport tyre is also available in a Run-Flat homologated version, allowing drivers to maintain control and safely continue driving up to 80km after a puncture.

For track enthusiasts, Bridgestone has developed the Potenza Race tyre, which unleashes the supercar’s incredible capabilities, including its ability to reach 10,000rpm—the first and only production super sportscar engine to do so. This tyre features a bespoke compound specifically designed for track use, offering exceptional grip and handling, as well as long-lasting performance.

To round out the lineup, Bridgestone has created a custom version of its award-winning Blizzak LM005 winter tyre for the Temerario. This tyre enables the supercar to maintain top performance even in the most extreme winter conditions, providing drivers with confidence and control throughout the year.

Cristian Mastro, Marketing Director at Lamborghini, expressed his enthusiasm for the continued partnership: “The Temerario is a new benchmark in the super sportscar segment, offering the highest levels of performance and comfort, and Bridgestone is the perfect partner to help us maximise its potential. Over the years we’ve forged a brilliant partnership that’s broken boundaries again and again. Now, as we journey forward into the electric path, our collaboration is only growing stronger while continuing to deliver on its promises.”

The development of the Lamborghini Temerario’s tyres was carried out at Bridgestone’s R&D Centre in Italy, using the company’s proprietary Virtual Tyre Development (VTD) technology. This innovative approach enhances both efficiency and sustainability by reducing the need for physical prototypes and vehicle tests. VTD cuts physical vehicle tests by 80 percent, reduces development time by up to 50 percent, and leads to a significant decrease in raw material consumption and CO2 emissions.

The Lamborghini Temerario, set to launch in 2025, will feature these custom-engineered Bridgestone tyres available in eight dimensions across 20” and 21” sizes. The tyres will be manufactured in Europe, further cementing Bridgestone’s commitment to quality and sustainability in the automotive industry.
