Descon Engineering has taken delivery of four Tadano rough-terrain cranes for its UAE branch, the crane manufacturer has announced. The cranes, which include one GR-800EX-3, one GR-500EX-3 and two Tadano GR-1000EX-4 units will be used on the site of Descon’s Gasco Habshan 5 gas processing plant.
The GR-1000EX-4 is one of Tadano’s latest models and offers the longest boom in the 100t class, the company says. It is made of high tensile steel and allows for decreased boom weight and increased boom strength.
The GR-1000EX-4’s Smart Counterweight system allows the counterweight to be moved between two mounting positions, which is said to increase lifting capacity by up to 20%
According to Descon Engineering, the cranes were chosen for three main reasons: their reliability, high safety standard, and ease of maintenance. “That is why we decided to order four new Tadano GR cranes for our branch in the United Arab Emirates,” explains Operations Manager, Imran Chaudhry.
He added, “On this project we are only using machinery and equipment that meets the very highest standards. The Tadano rough terrain cranes definitely fit into this category. With their high reliability, they will ensure smooth operation on our construction site day and night.”
