DGW gives students practical fleet management, vehicle maintenance and repair training

DGW gives engineering students practical experience and technical knowledge of advanced vehicles and how to maintain them

The Dubai Government Workshop (DGW) has concluded its practical training programme for engineering students designed to help them gain practical experience and technical knowledge of advanced vehicles and the mechanisms for maintaining such systems.

This programme was focused on helping university students develop skills in vehicle maintenance and repairs, said the DGW.

The programme has been created as part of DGW’s endeavours to foster continuous improvement and the adoption of cutting-edge processes and techniques, as well as to empower and enhance human resources and equip them with skills and knowledge.

This move is also aimed at supporting the young generation and the students by promoting their career paths and enabling them to meet the requirements of the labour market in line with its vision “to enhance the work ecosystem and build a new generation of multiskilled workforce”.

“The training programme reflects DGW’s commitment to enhancing students’ engineering skills, technical knowledge and providing them with the tools to further their career options in the fields of fleet management, vehicle maintenance and repair,” said Aqeel Mustafa Al Janahi, director of the Engineering Maintenance Department, Dubai Government Workshop (DGW).

“We are pleased to offer students the opportunities to work in an environment that fosters innovation and excellence, as well as to provides them training on the use of the latest fleet management, maintenance technology and set them up for successful careers in this field.

“The programme improves students’ understanding and academic skills while providing them with the tools they need to keep up with the industry’s rapid technological advancements by leveraging the expertise of DGW’s team and experts.”
