eActros makes historic debut in Saudi Arabia

"Introducing the eActros represents a monumental leap toward sustainable transportation, perfectly in line with Saudi Vision 2030"

Juffali Commercial Vehicles (JVC) and Daimler have used the EV Auto Show in Riyadh to unveil the groundbreaking eActros 300 L 4×2, the first battery-electric truck from Mercedes-Benz Trucks.

JCV, the authorised General Distributor for Mercedes-Benz Trucks, presented the trailblazing heavy-duty electric truck at the show, marking a significant stride toward greener and emission-free road freight transport in the Kingdom.

JCV boasts a long and prosperous partnership with Daimler AG, dating back to 1974 when a joint venture between Mercedes-Benz Commercial Vehicles and E.A. Juffali & Brothers established the National Automobile Industry (NAI) in Jeddah. This collaboration laid the foundation for the manufacturing of Mercedes-Benz commercial vehicles in Saudi Arabia.

The eActros, the epitome of sustainability, innovation, and quiet operation, underscores Mercedes-Benz Trucks’ unwavering commitment to a greener planet and aligns with Saudi Vision 2030’s ambitions for sustainable transportation.

Heiko Schulze, CEO of Juffali Commercial Vehicles, expressed his enthusiasm, saying: “The launch of the eActros in Saudi Arabia represents a significant milestone for sustainable transportation in the region. It underscores our dedication to environmentally responsible choices and a sustainable future, aligning perfectly with our core values.”

Olaf Petersen, General Manager of Daimler Commercial Vehicles MENA, emphasised that introducing the eActros to Saudi Arabia represents a monumental leap toward sustainable transportation, perfectly in line with Saudi Vision 2030.

This cutting-edge electric truck, equipped with advanced features such as Stability Control Assist, Lane Keeping Assist, and Active Brake Assist 5, not only contributes to a greener planet but also ensures safer and more comfortable journeys for both drivers and pedestrians. It signifies a symbol of their unwavering commitment to a cleaner future.

With state-of-the-art driver assistance systems like Stability Control Assist, Lane Keeping Assist, and Active Brake Assist 5, the eActros prioritizes safety for drivers and pedestrians alike. Its Acoustic Vehicle Alert System adds an extra layer of safety by making it audibly detectable by other road users at speeds of up to 60 km/h.

The eActros draws power from the eAxle, featuring two integrated electric motors and a two-speed transmission, delivering exceptional ride comfort and vehicle dynamics. With an impressive battery capacity of 336 kWh, the eActros 300 boasts a realistic range of up to 300 km, making it an ideal choice for distribution transport. Its fast-charging capability enables the truck to reach an 80% charge in just over an hour, ensuring it remains ready for demanding daily operations.

This groundbreaking electric truck represents a pivotal moment in the journey towards sustainable and emission-free transportation in Saudi Arabia, bringing the nation one step closer to its ambitious environmental goals.
