FAMCO and Volvo Trucks celebrate multiple award success at Truck and Fleet Awards

Partners celebrate after winning the Middle East Truck of the Year, as well as the prestigious Distributor of the year award

The successful roll-out of sustainable transportation solutions in the region has helped FAMCO (Al Futtaim Auto & Machinery Company) and Volvo Trucks jointly sweep five prestigious awards at this week’s Truck and Fleet Awards held in Dubai.

The long-standing partners were celebrating this week after winning the Middle East Truck of the Year, as well as the prestigious Distributor of the year award.

The Truck and Fleet Awards 2024 recognised 21 winners during a gala dinner held this week at the Ritz Carlton – JBR hotel in Dubai.

Almost 9,000 people voted for categories with the process open to the industry before closing at the beginning of January. A separate judging panel assessed the Volvo Trucks FH Electric – 4×2 as the best truck available in the region.

In 2023, FAMCO took a major leap in faith to re-inforce its position as pioneer of Electric Vehicles for the industrial equipment segment.

The Volvo 7900EV, a state-of-the-art electric bus designed for efficiency and environmental friendliness, was honored with the “Bus of the Year” award. This recognition highlights Volvo’s dedication to advancing public transportation with cutting-edge technology and sustainable solutions.

In the category of “Heavy-Duty Truck of the Year,” the Volvo Trucks FM Electric – 4×2 was celebrated for its exceptional performance and environmentally friendly features. The truck represents Volvo’s commitment to reducing carbon emissions and leading the way in electric vehicle technology in the heavy-duty truck sector.

FAMCO, a long-standing distributor of Volvo Trucks, was recognised as the “Distributor of the Year,” a testament to the company’s excellence in sales, customer service, and support for Volvo Trucks’ range of products. This award underscores FAMCO’s pivotal role in Volvo Trucks’ success in the region.

The “New Vehicle of the Year” accolade was awarded to the Volvo Trucks FH Electric – 4×2, another testament to Volvo’s leadership in electric vehicle technology and its vision for a more sustainable future in commercial transportation.

Lastly, the “Middle East Truck of the Year” award was bestowed upon the Volvo Trucks FH Electric 4×2, further cementing its status as a top choice in the region for efficiency, reliability, and environmental responsibility.

These awards reflect the strong partnership between FAMCO and Volvo Trucks and their joint commitment to delivering top-notch vehicles that meet the evolving needs of the transportation industry.
