Geely recruited into Dubai Police Fleet

The Geely Tugella vehicles set to be deployed to patrol in tourist areas and key locations across the emirate

Dubai Police has added the Geely Tugella model to their fleet of traffic patrol vehicles. This initiative highlights the force’s ongoing commitment to incorporating cutting-edge technology in its operations, said the law enforcement agency.

The handover ceremony was attended by Brigadier General Juma Salem bin Suwaidan, Deputy Director of the General Department of Traffic, and Mohamad Hussami, General Manager of Operations at AGMC GEELY, the official distributor of Geely vehicles in the UAE. Various officers and employees from both organisations were also present.

The Geely Tugella vehicles, customised and sporting the Dubai Police’s green and white livery, will be deployed in tourist areas and key locations across the emirate. These vehicles are expected to enhance traffic flow and strengthen the security presence of police officers in diverse locations.

Geely’s presence in the UAE goes beyond vehicle sales. The brand has established a flagship showroom in Dubai, a Geely Boutique in Abu Dhabi, a contemporary showroom in Sharjah, and a spare parts delivery centre for the GCC region based in Jebel Ali. Plans are underway to open additional flagship stores in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain.

Dr. Andreas Schaaf, CEO of Geely Group Brands, expressed his enthusiasm about the collaboration: “We are honoured to see the Geely Tugella SUV become a part of Dubai Police’s fleet. This addition underscores Geely’s commitment to product development and customisation to meet specific market needs. It is a testament to the trust in AGMC Geely’s dedication to quality and service excellence. We look forward to further collaborative opportunities and continuing our growth in the UAE market.”

Brigadier General bin Suwaidan commented on the integration of the new vehicles: “The new patrol addition aims to improve response times and provide better police presence in the field. This aligns with Dubai Police’s efforts to adopt the best innovative initiatives and projects in line with our forward-looking plans and programmes.”

The collaboration between Dubai Police and Geely represents a milestone in the use of advanced automotive technology to enhance public safety and traffic management in Dubai.
