HEAT Show 2024: Tata Motors launches first AMT Truck in Saudi Arabia: Prima 4440.S

The HEAT Show opens with a spectacular launch for the All New TATA Prima AMT truck in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

Tata Motors has unveiled its first-ever Automated Manual Transmission (AMT) truck, the Prima 4440.S AMT, in Saudi Arabia.

Based on the brand’s flagship Prima platform, the truck is designed to deliver advanced engineering and robust performance tailored for diverse operational needs. It features a powerful drivetrain, durable components, and a driver-focused cabin, aiming to enhance productivity and fuel efficiency for customers.

The debut coincided with Tata Motors’ participation in the Heavy Equipment and Trucks (HEAT) Show in Dammam, where the company also showcased five additional high-performance models tailored to meet the specific demands of the Saudi market.

To support its growing presence in Saudi Arabia, Tata Motors has fortified its truck offerings with comprehensive value-added services in partnership with its official distributor, Mohamed Yousuf Naghi Motors Co. Customers in the Kingdom benefit from a wide-reaching network of service centres, expertly trained technicians, and reliable access to Tata Genuine spare parts. This robust support infrastructure ensures maximum vehicle uptime and strengthens customer confidence.

Built for Versatile Applications

The Tata Prima 4440.S AMT is engineered to excel in a range of applications, including container transport, car carriers, and heavy equipment logistics. Its automated transmission system boosts fuel efficiency and durability, aided by advanced features like Load-Based Speed Control, Shift-Down Protection, Vehicle Acceleration Management, and Auto Start-Stop.

The truck is powered by an 8.9-litre Euro-V Cummins engine, delivering 400bhp and an impressive 1,700Nm of torque. This robust powertrain is designed to handle heavy loads, steep gradients, and challenging terrains with ease.

Tata Motors places a high emphasis on driver comfort. The Prima 4440.S AMT is equipped with pneumatic suspension, an air-cushioned seat, and a tilt-and-telescopic steering wheel, offering an ergonomic and smooth driving experience. These features contribute to enhanced productivity and operational efficiency, even during long hauls.

Unveiling Tata Motors’ pavilion at the HEAT Show, Anurag Mehrotra, Head, International Business, Tata Motors Commercial Vehicles, said: “Saudi Arabia is a key region for Tata Motors, where we have proudly established a strong presence and are serving the customers for decades. As the Kingdom undergoes rapid transformation, we remain committed to supporting its evolving mobility needs with our advanced solutions. With a strong focus on innovative technologies, reliability, and customer profitability, we are proud to launch our first Automated Manual Transmission truck in the Kingdom. We are confident that its world-class reliability, performance, and smart features will aid the country’s ambitious growth aspirations and offer long-term value for our customers.”
