United Diesel, a leading UAE dealer, celebrated its 50th anniversary with a grand gala dinner at The Agenda in Dubai Media City last night. The event, attended by principal partners, customers, and members of the media, highlighted United Diesel’s enduring success and its plans for a smarter and greener future.
Representatives from long-standing partners including UD Trucks, Tata Motors, Daewoo Trucks, and Renault Trucks were present to receive awards recognising their long-standing partnerships.
As part of the celebrations, United Diesel unveiled three new brands — Chinese commercial vehicle brand Yutong Trucks, Turkish portable power generator provider Starkgen, and Chinese material handling company CHL, a brand of Anhui Forklift Truck Group.
These additions reflect the company’s commitment to expanding its offerings in response to evolving market demands, said David Sawiras, General Manager of United Diesel.
One of the major highlights of the night was the introduction of Yutong Trucks’ electric vehicle range, marking United Diesel’s entry into the clean, quiet, and eco-friendly EV market.
Muneeb Saeed, United Diesel’s Marketing Manager, emphasised the significance of this development: “Yutong’s electric vehicles are clean, electric, and quiet, making them ideal for the UAE market. We are proud to bring these innovative solutions to our customers.”
United Diesel also announced its partnership with Starkgen, a Turkish company known for its diesel and hybrid gensets and batteries. This addition expands United Diesel’s power solutions portfolio, further enhancing its ability to meet the diverse energy needs of its customers. “Starkgen’s renowned hybrid technology will help us cater to the growing demand for efficient power solutions in the UAE,” added Saeed.
Addressing the audience, David Sawiras emphasised the company’s customer-centric approach: “Our goal is to take the headache away from our customers by understanding their future needs. Tonight, we celebrate 50 years of trust and commitment, but we also pave the way for an even more exciting future,” he teased, before the new product launches were revealed.
During a series of celebratory award presentations, Mourad Hedna, President of UD Trucks Middle East, reflected on the company’s 50-year partnership with United Diesel, tracing it back to UD’s days as Nissan Diesel. “We have a long history and a strong future ahead,” said Hedna as he received an award marking the half-century collaboration.
The event also featured reflections on many of United Diesel’s storied partnerships, including a recognition of Renault Trucks’ two-decade collaboration with the company. “Renault Trucks have been the star player in our team since 2002,” said Saeed Muneeb, as Guillame Zimmerman accepted an award honoring the two firms’ expanding market share and mutual growth.
“We are honoured to celebrate this partnership,” Zimmerman told the audience.
Daewoo Trucks’ IK Park and Tata Motors’ Vishal Sharma also received awards in recognition of their contributions. Daewoo was celebrated for its legacy of simplicity and support in the UAE market since the early 2000s, while Tata Motors was praised for its role in workforce and construction transport since joining forces with United Diesel in the 1980s.
United Diesel’s 50th anniversary celebration not only honored its past but also set the stage for a new era of growth, with a stronger focus on sustainability, innovation, and customer satisfaction.
Abdul Rahman Saqr, Chief Technology Officer of Al Rostamani Group, echoed the company’s forward-thinking strategy. “The path for United Diesel is clear: to go from strong to stronger. We are committed to staying ahead by innovating and adapting to meet the UAE’s future needs,” he said.
Mazan Dalati, CEO of Al Rostamani Group, closed the night by reaffirming the group’s commitment to resilience and innovation, the keys to United Diesel’s success over the past 50 years. “We are focused on creating a future built on care, vision, and commitment to the people of the UAE,” Dalati said.
