Zajel reveals green plans as it commits to UAE’s Net Zero 2050 Goal

Zajel reveals details on how it will set a standard in the logistics and courier service industry for environmental stewardship

Zajel, one of the leading logistics and courier service companies in the UAE, has embarked on a comprehensive plan to reduce its carbon footprint and contribute to the fight against climate change and environmental degradation.

This initiative aligns with the UAE’s ambitious Net Zero 2050 plan, emphasising the reduction of greenhouse gases like CO2 and CH4, says the logistics firm.

Zajel is adopting a multi-faceted approach to decarbonisation. A key component of this strategy involves raising awareness among its employees about simple yet effective ways to reduce their carbon footprint. To this end, the company is organising educational workshops to enlighten its workforce on the importance and impact of their actions in achieving environmental goals.

“There are small changes everyone can do that would make a difference. Even if the steps are small, eventually we will all reach the goal of reducing our carbon footprint, which will benefit the bigger goal of net zero 2050,” says Nabeel Al Kharabsheh, Zajel’s General Manager. The company’s dedication to environmental sustainability is further evident in its ISO14001 – 2015 Environmental Management System Certification.

In its journey towards a more sustainable future, Zajel is not just focusing on internal practices but is also reevaluating its external partnerships. The company has adopted the use of recyclable materials in all its operations and is actively avoiding the purchase of non-recyclable materials.

Zajel is also collaborating with other companies that are committed to environmental preservation. This collaboration extends to ensuring that all vendors used by Zajel are either certified in environmental management systems or utilize recycled materials, aligning with the company’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) vision.

In addition to these measures, Zajel is encouraging its office staff to adopt energy-saving practices like unplugging devices and turning off lights when not in use, further contributing to the reduction of the company’s carbon footprint.

Through these comprehensive efforts, Zajel wants to set a standard in the logistics and courier service industry for environmental stewardship and play a crucial role in the UAE’s mission to achieve net zero emissions by 2050.
