Specialist heavy-duty and off-road tyre manufacturer Balkrishna Industries Ltd. (BKT) has launched its new tyre, Earthmax SR 47 (E-4), for rigid haulers at the ongoing Automechanika 2018 exhibition in Dubai.
The SR 47 (E-4), on display at BKTs stand at the event being held at the Dubai World Trade Centre, is an all-steel radial OTR tire specifically designed for rigid haul trucks operating in the toughest transport applications such as rock quarrying, said the company. The size on display at the event is the 21.00 R 33.
According to BKT, the all-steel casing of the tyre, along with the extra strong steel belts, improves the tyres stability and resistance to snags and punctures. The E-4 tread depth and a unique tread design ensure wear resistance even on long hauls, reducing downtime and increasing productivity. The Earthmax SR 47 is available in standard and cut-resistant compounds for extended durability.
Also being exhibited at the BKT stand is the Earthmax SR 33, size 395/85 R 20, a radial tyre for multipurpose trucks that provides more grip on off-road surfaces, such as on mud and sand. Other exhibits include the Earthmax SR 30 in size 15.5 R 25, a dual-purpose radial tyre for wheel loaders, motor graders and telehandlers. BKT says the tyre provides excellent traction, stability and durability in a variety of harsh operating conditions.
In addition to its extensive Earthmax tyre range, BKT is also showing off a significant selection of its tyre ranges for port, mining, industrial and construction applications. Automechanika visitors can see BKTs Portmax PT 93, size 280/75 R 22.5, which made its debut in Dubai last year and has been specifically engineered for terminal tractors, suitable for operations at ports and logistics hubs.
Another tyre on display is the MULTIMAX MP 519 in size 7.50 R 16, a light truck tyre, which the manufacturer says a suitable for all transport applications. There is also the TR 463 for backhoe loaders and industrial tractors, made of a superior tread compound and featuring a strong nylon casing to provide best results in industrial and construction applications. This tyre is exhibited at Automechanika in size 16.9-28.
Another tyre for construction applications is SKID POWER PLUS, displayed in size 10-16.5. Specifically designed for skid-steers, this tyre features wider lugs along with enhanced protection providing excellent cut-and-chip and puncture resistance with high durability.
To round up the BKT portfolio at the booth, there are the MAGLIFT ECO in size 7.00-12 – a forklift tyre providing high load capacity and comfort with high cut and chip resistance – and AIROMAX AM 27 a ideal road-oriented tyre for construction applications with cranes. This high-speed tyre offers a high level of handling qualities and is on display in size 505/95 R 25.
