Coronavirus: Al Rawabi commits to free hospital food deliveries

CSR initiative sees truck delivering Al Rawabi functional products to the Ministry of Health in the UAE

Al Rawabi has launched a new CSR initiative that will see it deliver free food to hospitals in the UAE via the ministry of health.

The functional products can boost immune systems which will ‘give each of us an edge in staying healthy’ during the Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, claimed the dairy food specialist.

The functional products, which are enriched with multivitamins and minerals, were designed to help solve the major health concerns of the GCC population, such as Vitamin D deficiency, which can lead to bone metabolism disorders, rickets in children, cancer, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and much more, explained the company in a statement.

“For example, Al Rawabi’s Vitamin D Milk was developed based on studies from Dr. Michael Holick, Professor of Medicine, Dermatology and Physiology at the Boston University School of Medicine, and considered the leading authority on Vitamin D. According to research, 1 cup (250ml) of Al Rawabi Vitamin D Milk per day will make a difference. It will not only protect you from a Vitamin D deficiency, but also help support your immune system.”

“We are not powerless,” added Dr Ahmed El Tigani, CEO, Al Rawabi Dairy Company. “The investments we made in research and innovation helped Al Rawabi produce superior quality products in terms of safety, taste, nutrition but most importantly in terms of functionality.

“In a time where everyone is looking at how to protect himself from COVID-19, Al Rawabi is committed to boosting your health by improving the well-being of your immune system.” he added.

A truck delivering Al Rawabi functional products (Vitamin D, Nutree Boost, Orange Juice, Super Milk) will be delivered daily to the ministry of health in the UAE, “who will be taking care of distributing the products within the hospitals’ network to everyone, from the medical staff to their patients, to boost their immune system.”

Al Rawabi added that it has taken ‘all precautionary measures’ to ensure that its 15,000 cows are milking healthily, “providing consumers with the freshest and most qualitative products possible during these hard times”.

“Right now, what matters most is guaranteeing everyone’s safety and immunity. We want to Salute our doctors and medical staff and support them as much as we can. At Al Rawabi, we only have one thing at heart: the Nation’s Health,” said El Tigani.
