Deadline for Truck and Fleet Awards nominations and voting extended to 18 February, 2022

Extension gives more time to people to vote for their favourite commercial vehicle in the region, as well as offer more time for companies to put themselves forward for the Fleet of the Year awards

The nomination deadline for the Truck and Fleet Awards 2022 has been extended to 18 February, 2022, with close to 2,000 votes already received.

Editor Stephen White explained that he was happy to offer more time to people to vote for their favourite commercial vehicle in the region, as well as offer more times for companies to put themselves forward for the Fleet of the Year awards.

“We have received a fantastic response to the nominations drive and voting for our first event but I want it to be as inclusive as possible. I believe one final week gives people the extra they need to participate,” he added. “To achieve the numbers we have already has been fantastic and by far one of the most successful campaigns of its type in the region, particularly for this sector. But we want to reach as many people as possible.”

The Truck & Fleet ME Awards is set to take place on Monday, 28 February 2022 at the Raffles Dubai and the magazine’s editor has urged fleet companies ensure they put themselves forward in the Fleet of the year categories.

“We used to talk about transport, now we talk about mobility and the sector has seen some dramatic changes over the past half-decade,” White added. “Whether you want to call it smart transport or smart mobility, the Covid pandemic has profoundly changed the possibilities for fleets in the region. Many of them have fast-tracked their way into e-commerce, on-demand services and last mile deliveries. This is a chance to celebrate the successes of those that have kept-up with and outpaced this evolution.”

He continued: “If you are a fleet in the region you really should be considering participating right now. Winning and even being nominated is an accolade in itself and will set you apart from the competition when you got for the next contract.”

With the nomination process set to close at the end of the week, White urged fleets to put themselves forward while there was time.

“This is your opportunity to put yourself in the winners circle at the end of the February and also the shop window. Don’t miss out!”

He added that: “For me the most important category remains the Truck and Fleet ME Fleet of the Year. The run-up to the awards will now be concentrated on ensuring that we get the absolute best the region has to offer in terms of fleet operators on the winners’ podium.”
