Diesel, which is used heavily in machinery and construction, will be cheaper in the UAE from July 1 as part of a monthly readjustment in fuel prices.
The fuel will cost Dh1.84 during July, compared to Junes Dh1.90, a drop of 3.16%, the Ministry of Energy announced.
Petrol prices are also set to drop, with 98 unleaded gasoline to cost Dh1.86 a litre compared to Dh1.96 in June, 95 unleaded down to Dh1.75, and 91 unleaded down to Dh.1.68.
The UAE government cut costly subsidies on fuel in 2015. Officials in the UAE now set prices monthly, tracking the open market more closely than when the subsidies were in place.
