ENOC Group has entered a strategic partnership with ION, Beeah’s sustainable mobility arm and a joint venture with Crescent Enterprises, to install a new network of ultra-fast DC electric vehicle (EV) chargers at ENOC service stations across Sharjah.
The agreement is set to ease charging constraints for private motorists and, crucially, for commercial operators now beginning to scale up electrified fleets in the emirate.
The partnership targets high-demand, high-traffic ENOC forecourts that offer the highest value for drivers who need reliable, round-the-clock access to charging. As part of the deal, ION will supply, install and operate the chargers through its integrated digital platform, offering unified monitoring, energy management and predictive maintenance.
For commercial operators—particularly last-mile fleets, corporate mobility providers and government-run services—the move provides much-needed confidence that Sharjah’s charging infrastructure can keep pace with the growing number of EVs entering the market.
Both ENOC and ION will assess further expansion phases to ensure chargers are available in key logistics corridors and neighbourhoods as demand increases.
Leaders welcome a move that strengthens fleet capability
Hussain Sultan Lootah, Acting CEO of ENOC Group, said:
“Sharjah’s rapid progress in sustainability and innovation is a key pillar of the UAE’s vision for a greener economy. We are proud to support the emirate’s transformation into a model for smart mobility and environmental leadership. This strategic partnership reflects our commitment to developing future-ready energy infrastructure and accelerating the adoption of clean energy solutions nationwide.”
Aamir Milad, CEO of ION, added: “We are pleased to collaborate with ENOC to enhance access to EV charging stations in Sharjah. Through ENOC stations, our integrated ecosystem will streamline the deployment, operation and maintenance of EV chargers.”
Sharjah’s charging network has historically lagged behind Dubai and Abu Dhabi, but this partnership signals a shift towards aligning all three emirates with the UAE’s national sustainability targets.
Ultra-fast DC chargers are particularly important for commercial fleets, allowing rapid turnaround times and minimising operational downtime, one of the biggest barriers to EV adoption in logistics and service-based operations.
