Ford introduces Tourneo Custom van for luxury business transport and tour fleets

Ford has introduced its new Tourneo Custom van, which targets business fleets with features such as increased comfort levels, more leg room and enhanced air-conditioning, along with an array of safety offerings.

A statement from the manufacturer said the Tourneo Custom provides users a more stylish and car-like people mover experience, with seating for nine and a choice of short or long wheelbase options, and delivers space and functionality with low cost of ownership and high fuel economy.

A streamlined appearance, car-like interior design and driving dynamics, a driver-focused cockpit and high-quality interior design make it suitable for tour operators, executive shuttle customers and VIP/luxury transport operators, the statement added.

Available in nine seat configuration, the Tourneo Custom offers a choice of a 2,933mm short wheelbase version (SWB – 4.9m overall length), and a 3,300mm long wheelbase (LWB – 5.3m overall length), both of which provide space for people and luggage. The additional length of the LWB version translates into extra luggage space behind the third row of seats, said Ford.

At a height of just two metres, the Tourneo Custom also complies with most car park height limits, an advantage it retains when is fitted with a deployable integrated roof rack system that can be raised or lowered when required. The model offers dual side sliding doors as standard, with running boards below the doors for improved low level step access. A liftgate is fitted as standard at the rear.

The statement added that the Tourneo Custom comes fitted with SYNC, Ford’s in-car, fully-integrated entertainment and communications system that allows drivers to control Bluetooth enabled devices with steering wheel audio controls. The seats in the two rear seating rows can be easily folded into multiple configurations and removed in segments or completely – in total there are over 30 seating permutations to suit any occasion.

The Tourneo’s ventilation and air-conditioning systems offer a separate air conditioning unit for the rear compartment. There are 20 air vents to maximise airflow throughout the vehicle, from the dashboard to the third row. Integral side window blinds are also included.
