Fujairah’s Department of Public Works completes 57km internal roads project

Project covers 15 areas, including 10km of internal roads in Dibba Fujairah, Al Tawyeen, Al Qariyah, Wadi Sadr and Muraished, amongst others

The Department of Public Works and Agriculture of the Fujairah Government has announced the completion of Phase One of the emirate’s internal road network project, which covers 57 kilometres and 15 areas.

In a statement, the department said that it has cooperated with the municipalities of Fujairah and Dibba Fujairah, and the Fujairah National Resources Cooperation to undertake and achieve the comprehensive upgrading of the network in residential areas, all done to the highest quality standards.

Salem Al Miksah, director of the Department, said that the new roads constructed by the department, in partnership with its strategic partners, are part of Fujairah emirate’s new road network. The project covers 15 areas, including 10 kilometres of internal roads in Dibba Fujairah, Al Tawyeen, Al Qariyah, Wadi Sadr and Muraished, amongst others.

The restoration of several of these internal roads has contributed to a reduction in traffic jams, Al Miksah stated. He added that the department was working with partners to implement Phase Two of the project.

He concluded by saying that the project will help achieve sustainable development.
