Fuso eCanter takes centre stage of ENOC Link Wetex showcase

The FUSO eCanter answers public’s need for a zero-emission, very quiet truck for inner-city distribution, says Kay-Wolf Ahlden, CEO, Daimler Commercial Vehicles MENA

ENOC Link, the digital mobile fuel delivery service for businesses in the UAE by ENOC Group, showcased its range of sustainable best practices at WETEX and Dubai Solar Show 2021.

Taking centre stage was Daimler’s FUSO eCanter electric truck ahead of its debut at ENOC’s Service Station of the Future at the Expo 2020 Dubai site.

The eCanter is an emission-free light duty truck and is virtually noiseless. As previously tested by Truck & Fleet Middle East, the vehicle is designed to increase comfort for drivers, reduce maintenance costs for operators, and “embodies a more sustainable option for urban mobility”.

As a statement of its commitment to sustainability, ENOC Link announced at WETEX that is partnering with Daimler Commercial Vehicles MENA to “showcase the future of mobility and sustainable urban transportation solutions”.

“We are committed to promoting awareness and strengthening positive action on the adoption of clean and renewable energy solutions,” said His Excellency Saif Humaid Al Falasi, Group CEO, ENOC. “At ENOC, sustainability is an integral part of our DNA, and we will continue to support the nation’s commitment to innovative approaches to sustainable development.

“Our partnership with Daimler Commercial Vehicles MENA is an extension of our sustainable initiatives and resonates with our ‘reimagine energy’ vision for Expo 2020 Dubai, which seeks to be one of the most sustainable World Expos.”

From the way the fuel is delivered; the first of its kind all electric driven truck, to using the highest standard of fuel (Biodiesel B5 and B20), ENOC Link has been at the forefront in offering solutions that help conserve our environment while driving infrastructure development.

“The FUSO eCanter is our answer to the public’s need for a zero-emission, very quiet truck for inner-city distribution. It helps to solve the increasing noise and pollution problems in urban environments across the globe,” said Kay-Wolf Ahlden, President and CEO of Daimler Commercial Vehicles MENA.

Ahlden remarked that the eCanter’s ample range and payload helps it to easily meet the inner-city short-range distribution requirements of our customers.

He added: “It is great pleasure and honor to work together with ENOC Link on this special project showcasing our FUSO eCanter for the first time in the UAE and supporting the vision of the UAE for innovative and sustainable energy solutions.”

The eCanter trucks are the first battery electric light-duty truck in-series production FUSO with the longest experience in industry. According to Daimler CV MENA, with zero emissions, the eCanter trucks are ideal for inner city distribution: “These trucks are perfect for customers looking for sustainable transport solutions. The FUSO eCanter is also a key pillar within the Daimler Truck AG’s electric strategy to achieve CO2 neutral ‘tank to wheel’ transportation goal.”

This partnership has enabled ENOC Link to showcase the region’s first fully electric light duty truck which comes with various sustainability features including the Aluminum Tanker which is lighter by 30% than normal steel tankers, providing more efficiency. It is also equipped with the latest and most advanced metering solution which connects to the cloud for instant and continuous data transmission.
