Honeywell and Saudi Aramco have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for implementing the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) and advanced digitisation within Saudi Aramcos operations.
A statement from Honeywell said that under the agreement, the two companies will work together to increase throughput, raise yield and improve reliability of Saudi Aramcos operations by leveraging Honeywells cloud-based services and predictive analytics solutions.
The agreement was signed earlier this week in Riyadh by Honeywell president and CEO Darius Adamczyk, and Saudi Aramco president and CEO Amin H. Nasser. It followed a series of meetings between the two parties over the Honeywell Connected Plant (HCP) technologies, the statement added.
According to Honeywell, HCP combines the companys industrial expertise, software, and cloud technologies to enable its customers operations to be more reliable, profitable, and secure than before.
The new agreement will allow Saudi Aramco to enhance operational performance across its network of facilities while presenting significant opportunities for Honeywell to advance the adoption of the latest software industrial solutions.

Adamczyk added: We have always enjoyed a strong relationship between our two companies, working closely together to build, develop, and diversify Saudi Arabias oil and gas sector. This agreement represents a significant milestone towards connecting the processes, assets, and people to drive optimal performance for Saudi Aramco.
Saudi Aramco purchased its first Honeywell product in 1948. The statement added that since then, the two organisations have together worked on several projects, such as the installation of Honeywells first distributed control systems at Saudi Aramcos Safaniyah facility in the early 1980s and the opening of an integrated technical centre in the Dhahran Techno Valley in 2012.
