Launch: Hino and Al-Futtaim Motors unveil the new Euro 5 Hino 300 Series in Dubai

The new Euro 5 Hino 300 Series positions itself as a key option for operators seeking reliability, efficiency and future-ready fleet performance

Hino Motors Middle East and Al-Futtaim Motors have officially launched the new Euro 5 Hino 300 Series in Dubai, marking a major upgrade to one of the UAE’s most widely used light-duty trucks. The launch event, held at Festival Plaza and attended by more than 200 customers, partners and industry representatives, showcased improvements in power, efficiency, emissions and driver comfort.

Speaking at the event, Masaaki Yamamoto, Head of Product for Hino Light Duty Trucks, highlighted the significance of the new model for operators across the UAE.

“The Hino 300 is more than just our newest light-duty truck — it represents our continuous effort to deliver products that truly support our customers’ businesses,” he said.

Yamamoto also praised Al-Futtaim’s role in strengthening Hino’s presence in the region, calling their commitment and leadership “the reason why Hino continues to grow and evolve.”

The Euro 5 upgrade introduces a re-engineered powertrain delivering 165 PS, up from 155 PS, and torque increased from 422 Nm to 466 Nm, providing stronger acceleration and more confident load handling. The new emissions system uses a two-stage approach to reduce particulate matter and improve fuel efficiency while maintaining Hino’s reputation for long-term durability.

Taro Nagano, Managing Director of Hino Motors Middle East, said the new model reflected both technical progress and the strength of the brand’s long partnership with Al-Futtaim.
“This new model represents not only a technological step forward, but another major chapter in our long-standing partnership with Al-Futtaim,” he noted.

Nagano reaffirmed Hino’s commitment to supporting operators with enhanced training, faster parts supply and customer-first aftersales service, adding, “Together with Al-Futtaim, we remain fully committed to supporting your businesses and maximising your uptime.”

Other key upgrades to the 300 Series include a refined automatic transmission with a redesigned sequential shift lever, clearer Euro 5 driver displays, and cabin improvements aimed at enhancing visibility, comfort and operational awareness. The enhancements position the model to better serve high-utilisation sectors such as retail distribution, FMCG, last-mile delivery and aviation logistics.

The audience also heard a first-hand perspective from Khadija Salim Surror Juma, a sales administrator at Al-Futtaim whose passion for driving led her to train on the new model. She described the Euro 5 truck as noticeably more refined.

“I was really surprised by how smooth and stable it felt on the road,” she said.

She added that the new cabin layout is “as comfortable as a passenger vehicle,” and praised the model’s ease of handling: “It was easier to drive than my own car.”

Closing the event, Ramez Hamdan, Managing Director of Al-Futtaim Industrial Equipment, said the Euro 5 launch underscored the value of a partnership that has supported UAE industry for more than 50 years.

“This event transcends the idea of launching a new product — it is a celebration of a partnership that extends for more than half a century,” he said, emphasising Hino’s role in building one of the UAE’s most trusted and reliable commercial fleets.

With cleaner emissions, stronger performance and expanded driver-focused features, the new Euro 5 Hino 300 Series positions itself as a key option for operators seeking reliability, efficiency and future-ready fleet performance in the UAE’s rapidly growing logistics landscape.
