Meydan announces California-style waterfront lifestyle community

Marsa Meydan, the Meydan Group’s latest project, is a residential and lifestyle community development located in Jebel Ali, according to details revealed at Cityscape Global 2018.

The first of its kind in the UAE, Marsa Meydan will feature a climate-controlled marina, a network of canals throughout the development, waterfront villas with private pontoons and boat mooring facilities, and townhouses and apartments by the sea as per the developer.

The climate-controlled marina forms the centre-point of the development and will feature a “revolutionary shading device” which will cover the marina during the hotter months and create a shaded boardwalk.

“The lifestyle on offer here today with the launch of this new community is unparalleled; it will appeal to a wide spectrum of the UAE population with a conscious price positioning,” said Saeed Humaid Al Tayer, chairman and CEO of Meydan City Corporation.

“Innovation sits at the core of the project as we embrace new technologies, which allow us to enjoy fresh cool air at any time of year, shading the marina and boardwalk, yet still delivering a sustainably responsible environment which prioritises the everyday experiences of our residents and visitors,” he added.

An 11km long jogging track, a 9km long bike lane and a 6km long electrical car lane will be provided, as well as a multi-modal network of pedestrian-friendly walkways featuring charging stations for electric vehicles.

The Marsa Meydan will be home to four hotels (four- and five- star properties) along with food and beverage outlets, retail shops, a community centre, and a cinema along the canals and boardwalk. Swimming, sailing and water sports are expected given the beachfront location.

Other facilities will include a mosque, schools and nurseries, and a civil defence plot.

The development is located next to the Expo 2020 site while the Al Maktoum International Airport is only a few minutes away, meanwhile the community will be connected by public transport according to Marsa Meydan.
