Peugeot has appointed a new head of sales for its passenger vehicles business in the GCC as part of a restructuring that it hopes will boost its fleet and Light Commercial Vehicles (LCV) sales.
Yury Duzhnikov replaces Hesham Amer who will now focus on the business-to-business channel as Head of Fleet and Light Commercial Vehicle (LCV) sales. He has worked in the automotive retail channel for ten years of automotive experience and will ensure adherence to the firm’s Standards of Sales and Customer Relationship Management effort, sales efficiency and outlet throughput management.
The firm said in a statement that it “is continuing its revival in the region with a sales management restructuring, refreshed models and updated targets to meet the growth in demand for the French automaker’s products and services.”
Rakesh Nair, Managing Director at Groupe PSA in the GCC, added: “We hope to build on the success of our LCV range in 2019, becoming one of the top performers in the region. I am confident that both Yury and Hesham can help to expand our footprint focusing on separate retail and fleet segments of the business as the industry begins to emerge from the current crisis.”
Peugeot said it plans to debut new the compact SUV, the 2008, “as well as the sporty 508 GT with 220hp output to get the thrill-seekers’ pulses racing” in the next 12 months.
It is also continuing to “optimise its driver experience offering with features such as i-Cockpit.”
i-Cockpit features a customisable and configurable head-up digital display, a compact steering wheel with integrated controls and an electric automatic gearbox.
“As PEUGEOT continues its growth in the region, our main focus is to ensure we meet the ever-changing demands of our customers,” commented Nair. “With these appointments and a refreshed SUV line-up in 2021, PEUGEOT can now focus on passenger vehicles, along with the entire showroom experience.”
