The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has completed an internal road project in Nad El-Sheba 4, and is on the verge of completing a similar project in the Makan Community, in Hatta, later this month.
According to a statement, the projects will address potential increases in urban expansion and traffic volume and aim to ease the mobility of people and add to their happiness.
The internal roads project at Makan Community, which has 346 houses constructed by the Mohammed bin Rashid Housing Establishment, includes the construction of 8km internal roads, car parks, pavements and street lighting. The internal roads project at Nad El-Sheba 4 comprises the construction of 56km roads (50km at Nad El-Sheba 4, District 282, and 6km at Nad El-Sheba 1, District 618) at a width varying from 7.3m for collector roads and 7m for local roads. Works also included street lighting and rainwater drainage system, said Mattar Al Tayer, director general and chairman of RTA.
The two projects are part of a five-year plan endorsed by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
Additionally, the RTA said that in recent years, it has completed several road projects in Hatta, stretching about 150km linking Hatta with neighbouring areas. It has also rehabilitated the Jima Dam, and in 2017, it completed the maintenance of JimaFay Road.
