TERRA first to bring smart battery swapping to MENA region

Technology will allow EV owners to quickly swap depleted batteries for fully charged ones, says the UAE-basaed firm

UAE-based TERRA claims it is revolutionising the last-mile delivery industry across the MENA region with its groundbreaking Smart Battery Swapping solution – the first time this cutting-edge technology has been introduced into the market.

Smart Battery Swapping promises to reshape our perspective on electric mobility by offering EV owners the ability to rapidly exchange depleted batteries for fully charged ones, eliminating the inconvenience of long charging times. This innovation is set to significantly enhance the accessibility and convenience of electric mobility as it enables almost continuous uptime for vehicles.

In addition to pioneering Smart Battery Swapping, TERRA said proudly aligns itself with the UAE government’s commitment to nature-based solutions for environmental challenges and the objectives of COP28.

By being the first to introduce Smart Battery Swapping technology in the MENA region and promoting environmentally responsible initiatives, TERRA is setting the standard for a sustainable future. The company stands at the forefront of making electric mobility accessible and convenient while simultaneously aligning with global and regional sustainability objectives.

TERRA said it wants to establish a universal swapping network accessible to all electric vehicles on the road. The goal goes beyond making EVs more accessible; it aims to create a versatile, all-inclusive swapping network that welcomes all-electric vehicle within the last-mile delivery sector.

The MENA region’s first B2B micro-mobility tech start-up added that it has also launched the ‘Reviving Earth’ initiative, wherein a mangrove tree is planted for every TERRA motorbike that takes to the roads in the UAE. This initiative is said to not only symbolises TERRA’s dedication to sustainability but also actively contributes to the UAE’s environmental goals and the global battle against climate change.
