First-ever electric Hummer launched in the UAE

GMC Middle East celebrates its biggest ever line-up of premium trucks and SUVs in the Middle East with two major launches

With the introduction of two new models to the region: GMC Middle East says it now has its biggest ever line-up of premium trucks and SUVs available in the the Middle East market.

The electric GMC HUMMER EV and the off-road optimised GMC Canyon AT4X signal a significant expansion of GMC’s premium and capable vehicle lineup, featuring bold, precisely crafted trucks and SUVs, said the firm.

Jack Uppal, President & Managing Director of General Motors Africa & Middle East, expressed his enthusiasm for the new vehicles. “This year is for the books. We are thrilled to introduce two amazing additions to our line-up of premium trucks and SUVs, set to redefine the future of off-roading,” Uppal stated.

“The GMC HUMMER EV marks our first step into electric mobility in the region, while the Canyon AT4X brings unprecedented off-road capability to the midsize truck segment.”

These new models join the GMC Sierra in the AT4X trim, which is said to epitomise off-roading excellence and was introduced for the first time in 2023. They will complement GMC’s existing lineup, which includes the GMC Yukon, Terrain, and Acadia, the latter of which has also seen significant upgrades this year.

The introduction of the GMC HUMMER EV and Canyon AT4X is part of GMC’s broader strategy to cater to a diverse range of preferences and tastes across the region, ensuring that GMC remains at the forefront of innovation and quality in the automotive sector.

GMC HUMMER EV: A New Era of Electric Mobility
The GMC HUMMER EV has garnered a significant following since its initial reveal, challenging existing perceptions of electric vehicles. The model features a quiet, all-electric propulsion system and is built on GM’s Ultium Platform, enhancing both off-road and on-road performance. Unique to the HUMMER EV is the CrabWalk feature, which allows the vehicle to move diagonally, enhancing maneuverability in challenging terrains. The HUMMER EV is set to be available in Middle Eastern markets starting this summer, with broader availability throughout the rest of 2024.

GMC Canyon AT4X: Redefining Midsize Off-Road Trucks
The all-new GMC Canyon AT4X is engineered to be a no-compromise, off-road midsize truck. It combines robust off-road equipment with advanced technology for maximum capability and convenience. With a new premium suite of technology, a fully redesigned exterior including a standard factory lift and widened track, and a completely revamped interior, the Canyon AT4X is designed to dominate any landscape. The Canyon AT4X will be available in Middle Eastern showrooms in the summer of 2024.
