Mobility and art combine in Sharjah

AWR and ZEEKR launch "Mobility and Sustainability through Arts" initiative

A W Rostamani Group (AWR), a leading UAE conglomerate and the official distributor of ZEEKR in the region, has partnered with ZeeArts Gallery to unveil the “Mobility and Sustainability through Arts” initiative at the American University of Sharjah (AUS). This inspiring program was part of the AUS Giving Campaign, which unites communities to support education and promote scholarships for students in need, particularly those with disabilities and financial or social challenges.

The initiative, inspired by the vision of Her Excellency Sheikha Bodour bint Sultan Al Qasimi, President of AUS, integrates art and design to highlight the role of sustainable mobility in fostering a greener and more connected future. It also showcases ZEEKR’s dedication to promoting sustainability and education while advocating for a mobile and environmentally conscious lifestyle.

During the campaign, ZEEKR showcased its commitment to advancing sustainability and fostering innovation. Cannon Wang, Regional Managing Director for ZEEKR Middle East & Africa, emphasised the brand’s broader mission: “We are excited to support American University of Sharjah’s AUS Giving Campaign through the ‘Mobility and Sustainability through Arts’ initiative. At ZEEKR, our mission extends beyond delivering premium electric mobility solutions; we are dedicated to fostering education and sustainability within the communities we serve. By blending art and technology, we aim to inspire students to envision and create a sustainable future. This collaboration with ZeeArts Gallery underscores our commitment to empowering the next generation and driving positive change.”

Similarly, Roberto Colucci, Director of Electric Mobility at ZEEKR AWR, highlighted the transformative potential of the initiative. “We’re honoured to join this transformative initiative. At ZEEKR AWR, we’re proud to inspire the younger generation through sustainability and art, as ZEEKR models are designed blending aesthetics with technology to redefine mobility. At AW Rostamani Group, we believe in providing quality opportunities, especially in education, which is why we partnered with ZeeArts to support scholarships and empower individuals to reach their potential.”

The AUS Giving Campaign culminated on November 13, featuring a live painting event where renowned artist ShahulHameed Saludheen collaborated with more than 30 AUS students to create a 3-meter mural symbolising progress and sustainable growth. The artwork, auctioned under the patronage of Her Excellency Sheikha Bodour, raised funds for AUS scholarships, making a tangible impact on the lives of students.

The initiative also provided AUS students the opportunity to interact with ZEEKR’s latest models, including the ZEEKR X and ZEEKR 001, blending innovative technology with an enjoyable, hands-on experience that added depth and excitement to the campaign.

Dr. Tod Laursen, Chancellor of AUS, reflected on the importance of the initiative: “The ‘Mobility and Sustainability through Arts’ initiative advances our mission to ensure inclusive and transformative opportunities for our students. By integrating art, technology, and sustainable practices, this collaboration not only addresses global challenges but also empowers our students to become leaders and innovators. We remain committed to fostering a supportive environment where every student has the chance to excel and contribute to shaping a sustainable future.”

This partnership between AWR, ZEEKR, ZeeArts Gallery, and AUS highlights the power of art and education in promoting sustainability, mobility, and social impact. By bringing together creative expression, innovative technology, and a commitment to empowering communities, the “Mobility and Sustainability through Arts” initiative exemplifies the transformative potential of collaboration.
