Aramex deploys first electric trucks in the UAE

Introduction of electric trucks could have far-reaching implications for the logistics industry as a scalable model for sustainable transport

Aramex has taken a major step towards a greener operational future with the launch of its first fleet of electric trucks in the UAE. This milestone, achieved in collaboration with Admiral Mobility, marks a significant advancement in the decarbonisation of industrial supply chains, particularly within the oil and gas sector.

The deployment includes eight-ton Farizon electric trucks powered by a 162kWh battery, tested and certified for operations in both the UAE and Saudi Arabia. The initiative reflects Aramex’s commitment to carbon neutrality by 2030 and net-zero emissions by 2050, aligning with global sustainability goals and the UAE’s broader green transition strategy.

At a special launch event, representatives from Aramex and Admiral Mobility celebrated the integration of these eco-friendly vehicles into Aramex’s logistics operations. The electric trucks are set to provide Aramex’s oil and gas clients with efficient, sustainable transportation solutions, significantly reducing the environmental impact of their supply chains.

Tarek Abuyaghi, General Manager UAE, Aramex, highlighted the importance of this step: “At Aramex, we are committed to reducing our negative environmental impact through innovative sustainable practices. The partnership with Admiral Mobility advances our ambitions of increasing efficiency, lowering energy consumption, and improving our environmental footprint. We look forward to accelerating our net-zero ambitions and offering customers greener, cleaner logistics solutions.”

Admiral Mobility’s General Manager, Graham Bremer, shared his enthusiasm for the collaboration: “We are proud to be working with Aramex and assisting them on their drive to more sustainable logistics. The deployment of these electric trucks will enable further understanding of operating commercial EVs, helping Aramex transition its fleet to electric. We are super excited to be on this journey with Aramex.”

This deployment is the latest in Aramex’s ongoing sustainability efforts, which have included the integration of energy-efficient technologies, renewable energy investments, and sustainable packaging solutions. The company recently added e-bikes and fully electric vans to its last-mile delivery fleet in the UAE as part of its ambitious goal to convert 98% of its fleet to electric by 2030.

By integrating electric trucks into its fleet, Aramex reinforces its reputation as a pioneer in sustainable logistics. The move not only reduces carbon emissions but also provides a practical roadmap for the transition to electric vehicles in the industrial sector. This initiative highlights Aramex’s dedication to leveraging innovative solutions to meet its sustainability targets while supporting clients in adopting greener practices across the supply chain.
