Aramex’s focus on customer’s getting closer to local markets boosted growth in 2024

The nearshoring trend has significantly boosted Aramex’s domestic express and intra-regional cross-border express activity

Aramex, a global logistics and transportation leader, has reported strong financial results for the fourth quarter and full-year 2024, with revenue growing 11% year-on-year to AED 6.3 billion.

A key driver behind this growth has been the company’s successful nearshoring strategy, which has allowed businesses to reposition inventory closer to key markets, improving delivery speed and operational efficiency.

The nearshoring trend has significantly boosted Aramex’s domestic express and intra-regional cross-border express activity. The company has also experienced increased demand for warehousing and fulfilment services, underscoring its ability to provide integrated logistics solutions that meet the evolving needs of businesses looking to streamline supply chains.

Key Highlights:

Revenue Growth: 11% year-on-year increase, reaching AED 6.3 billion in 2024.

Profitability: Gross profit grew 6% to AED 1.5 billion, maintaining a 24% margin.

Regional Strength: GCC and MENAT markets recorded double-digit revenue and profitability growth.

Oceania Turnaround: The region saw a 50% year-on-year increase in revenues and gross profitability.

Nearshoring Impact: Increased domestic express volumes by 11%, international express volumes by 20%, and near full-capacity contract logistics operations.

Investment in Technology: Aramex continues to invest in automation and digitalisation to enhance operational efficiencies and value creation.

As businesses prioritise proximity to consumer markets to enhance supply chain resilience, Aramex’s strategic positioning and extensive regional network have positioned it as a key enabler of this shift.

The company has gained significant volumes from enterprises transitioning to nearshoring, resulting in a surge in domestic express and intra-regional logistics demand.

“This year has marked a major industry shift, with businesses shifting towards nearshoring to optimise inventory placement,” said Othman Aljeda, CEO, Aramex. “We have strategically capitalised on this trend, delivering integrated logistics solutions that cater to the changing needs of our customers. Our strong growth across domestic and international express, as well as contract logistics, demonstrates our ability to adapt and thrive in a rapidly evolving logistics landscape.”
