Genie to showcase eco-friendly models at FM EXPO 2018

Global powered access major Genie has announced that it will showcase its environment-friendly models for the facilities management sector at FM EXPO 2018, which will take place at the Dubai World Trade Centre from September 23-25.

The Terex-owned company said in a statement that it will display a line-up of some of its most popular mobile elevating work platforms (MEWP) suited for facilities management applications at the show, which is the Middle East’s largest tradeshow dedicated to the facilities management sector.

Genie working at height solutions will be on display for facilities management professionals at the brand’s Booth 5C229, with the featured models including the Genie AWP 25 S Super Series work platform and the electric Genie GS-1930 scissor lift. Visitors to the Genie booth will also have the opportunity to learn more about the new hybrid Genie Z-60/37 FE articulating boom that was awarded “Rental Product of the Year 2017” by the European Rental Association (ERA) in 2016.

The statement added that whatever the facility – whether an industrial site, hotel, shopping mall, sports arena, golf club or an entire leisure resort or theme park – facilities management takes over after completion of a project to ensure that everything remains well-maintained, secure and in perfect working order.

“From changing a light bulb, checking surveillance systems, verifying sprinklers, changing signage, painting and cleaning to general refurbishment or industrial maintenance and job inspections, Genie has the solution to help perform facilities management access tasks easily and rapidly,” said the statement, adding that the Genie product line comprises  a full line of personal lifts, material lifts, vertical masts  scissor lifts and telescopic and articulating boom lifts with working heights from 6m up to 57m.

Power sources for Genie models are hybrid, 100% electric or bi-energy, capable of operating for long shifts indoors and out, Genie said. Operational benefits include quiet, clean working, light machine weight, compact dimensions and non-marking tyres that are ideal for work in narrow aisles, on sensitive surfaces or fragile upper-level floors.

The highlight of the Genie stand at the FM EXPO will be two models. The electric Genie AWP 25 S Super Series aerial work platform is an industry favourite due to its ease of use, convenience and flexibility, said the manufacturer. Suited for rental, light-duty maintenance and construction applications, it offers a working height up to 9.57m and a lift capacity up to 159kg.

The other highlight if the display, the electric Genie GS-1930 scissor lift, is suitable for manoeuvring in tight spaces in both indoor and outdoor maintenance, installation and construction applications on firm, level surfaces. It offers working heights from 7.79m to 9.8m and a lift capacity of up to 227kg.

Visitors to the Genie booth will also be able to learn more about the 20m hybrid Genie Z-60/37 FE articulating boom lift, an environment-friendly model that won the “Rental Product of the Year 2017” from the European Rental Association (ERA) in 2016. According to the ERA judges, the machine focusses on sustainability and “is a true four-by-four hybrid machine designed for indoor and outdoor use with low fuel consumption”.
