India-built Nissan Magnite begins LHD exports

Nissan continuing to focus on bringing locally manufactured vehicles to a broader global audience

The Nissan Magnite, a compact SUV known for its design and features, is now being shipped to global Left-Hand Drive (LHD) markets. Manufactured at Nissan’s Alliance JV plant in Chennai, over 7,100 units are set for export this month to the Middle East and other regions.

The expansion is part of Nissan’s broader strategy to increase exports and position India as a manufacturing hub. By the end of February, the company expects to have shipped more than 10,000 LHD units to various markets, including North Africa, Asia Pacific, and Latin America.

Frank Torres, Divisional Vice President of AMIEO Region Business Transformation & President of Nissan India Operations, noted the significance of the exports, stating, “We are committed to expanding our presence globally and strengthening India’s role as a key export base. The Nissan Magnite has played a crucial role in our success, and we are excited to introduce it to more customers in international markets.”

Notable Features of the Nissan Magnite

The Magnite includes features aimed at a wide range of customers, including a distinctive front grille, LED headlights, and a bold exterior. An 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto is also installed alongside features like remote engine start and a cooled glovebox Six airbags, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC), and a rearview camera.

The vehicle is powered by a turbocharged 1.0-litre engine with an optional Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT).

The LHD version of the Magnite will now be available in over 65 markets worldwide, reinforcing India’s role as a manufacturing and export base for Nissan.

The growing demand for the Magnite has strengthened India’s position as an export hub, with Nissan continuing to focus on bringing locally manufactured vehicles to a broader global audience. The latest iteration of the Magnite features updates to both its exterior and interior, aligning with global market expectations and safety regulations.

By expanding its export footprint, Nissan India is taking another step toward integrating its production capabilities with the company’s broader global operations.
