Italy’s Iveco has launched the Trakker Eurotronic in the UAE, at a launch event held at the Dubai Autodrome in Motor City.
Over 150 customers representing municipalities, construction firms, quarries, transport operators and other operations attended the truck launch, which showcased the brand’s latest generation of off-road vehicles.
Participants at the event, organised by Iveco dealer Saeed Mohammed Al Ghandi & Sons (SMAG), had the opportunity to test the Trakker’s performance on the Autodrome race track.
Designed for extreme off-road missions, the Trakker is available with a Gross Combination Weight (GCW) of up to 70t.
The EuroTronic ZF automated gearbox on the new Trakker can be used in full or semi-automatic mode. The automatic gearshift is calculated according to load conditions, road conditions and driving style, to optimise vehicle performance, fuel consumption and comfort.
With the introduction of the Eurotronic gear box, the Trakker range now offers a product line-up that allows customers to tailor their vehicle to their specific mission.
The shift to automated gearboxes began about 10-15 years ago in Europe and is gradually becoming visible in the Middle East, said Luca Sra, business director – Africa and Middle East at Iveco, at the sidelines of the event.
“Concepts such as total cost of ownership, vehicle durability, and the impact of bad driving on the driveline, are becoming more and more popular. We believe that this is a perfect solution that will positively impact our customers.”
The Trakker range includes the Cursor 13 engines and two cabins (Hi-Land and Hi-Track). Rigid truck versions are available in 4×2, 4×4, 6×4, 6×6, 8×4 and 8×8 configurations with power ratings from 380 to 440hp.
