SelfDrive Mobility launches 2025 Back-to-School car rentals campaign

No penalties for early returns or extensions confirmed as hatchbacks enters line-up in time for new academic year

SelfDrive Mobility has unveiled a limited-time Back-to-School campaign across the UAE, introducing an expanded fleet of 2025 vehicles – including hatchbacks for the first time – with flat monthly pricing starting from AED 1,049. The offer includes no penalties for early returns or extensions, catering to students, parents, and professionals resuming routine life this academic year.

The campaign is designed to meet rising demand for short- and medium-term rentals, offering packages that include 3,000km per month, flexible durations of up to 12 months, and a fully digital booking process. Customers can compare models, manage rentals, and complete transactions entirely online without visiting a branch.

The initiative comes amid strong growth in the UAE’s car rental market. According to Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority, the number of rental vehicles operating in the emirate rose by 43% in 2024 to more than 71,000, while the number of rental companies increased by 33%. Demand for premium and electric vehicles has also accelerated, reflecting broader shifts in mobility preferences across the country.

SelfDrive’s latest offer specifically targets students, freelancers, and short-term professionals who value commitment-free mobility over traditional ownership or leasing. By eliminating paperwork, deposits, and long-term financial obligations, the company aims to make car access easier and more flexible.

The inclusion of hatchbacks adds a new dimension to SelfDrive’s line-up, providing compact, fuel-efficient options well-suited to urban commutes and campus life, says the firm. These vehicles join sedans and SUVs from a dealer-maintained and fully insured fleet of 2025 models.

Since its launch in the UAE in 2017, SelfDrive has expanded to eight international markets and now serves more than 1.5 million users. With access to over 100 models from 50 global brands, the platform continues to position itself as a leader in tech-enabled car rental innovation across the region.
