Al-Futtaim Toyota hosts global debut of Land Cruiser LC300 Hybrid in UAE

The most powerful Land Cruiser to date arrives offering a 20% increase in torque and a 40% improvement in accelerator response

Al-Futtaim Toyota has officially launched the Land Cruiser LC300 Hybrid, introducing the first-ever hybrid model of the iconic SUV to global audiences — with the UAE proudly selected as the debut market.

This electrified evolution of the Land Cruiser underscores Toyota’s growing commitment to carbon neutrality, combining legendary durability and off-road power with advanced hybrid performance, claims Al-Futtaim Toyota.

Launched at a time when the UAE intensifies efforts towards its Net Zero 2050 strategy, the arrival of the hybrid Land Cruiser aligns with regional sustainability goals while reinforcing the enduring bond between the Middle East and Toyota’s most celebrated 4×4. Since 1951, the Land Cruiser has earned a reputation for navigating the world’s harshest environments — a legacy now enhanced through electrification.

“Since its original launch in 2021, the fully remodelled Land Cruiser 300 Series has been so well received across the seven emirates, and we are deeply grateful for the continued support of Al-Futtaim Toyota’s valued customers,” said Jacques Brent, Managing Director of Al-Futtaim Toyota & Lexus. “As the nation’s drive towards a carbon-neutral society accelerates, driven by the UAE Net Zero 2050 strategy, we recognised the importance of offering electrified vehicle options across our range of vehicles now including our flagship Land Cruiser.

“We are extremely excited and honoured to introduce this key milestone of the Land Cruiser to the Emirates, a nation whose valuable feedback has helped shape the model’s development over seven decades. This is only the beginning of our journey with Toyota, as we work together with them to bring the ultimate electric off roader to our customers in the UAE, continuously evolving it further with their insights and experiences.”

At the heart of the new model is a parallel hybrid system combining a 3.5-litre twin-turbo V6 petrol engine with an electric motor, resulting in a combined output of 457hp and 790Nm of torque. The result is the most powerful Land Cruiser to date — offering a 20% increase in torque and a 40% improvement in accelerator response compared to its conventional petrol counterpart. Despite this performance boost, the hybrid model maintains the series’ trusted reliability and toughness across challenging terrains.

The hybrid drivetrain has been engineered for fail-safe operation even in remote areas. In the unlikely event of hybrid system failure, the vehicle can still be operated using the internal combustion engine alone. To ensure off-road resilience, the hybrid battery unit is waterproofed, allowing the LC300 Hybrid to retain its famed water fording ability.

Toyota’s development team also drew upon real-world testing in the deserts, mudflats and mountainous terrains of the UAE, ensuring the Land Cruiser Hybrid would meet the exacting standards of Middle East customers. Lessons from motorsport events like the Dakar Rally have been integrated into the new platform to strengthen endurance and performance.

The Land Cruiser Hybrid introduces new features designed to support both adventure and everyday usability. Electric Power Steering (EPS) improves manoeuvrability at low speeds and enhances steering feel during off-road driving, while a built-in 1500W AC inverter provides direct 220V power for camping, outdoor tools, or remote workstations.

Available in VXR and GR-S grades, the hybrid models sport distinctive new styling touches such as Hybrid Jet Black bumpers (VXR) and special “HYBRID Beyond Zero” and “457TT” badging. Whether prioritising comfort and luxury or sporting capability, the two trim levels offer a tailored experience for UAE customers.

Toyota’s hybrid technology, honed over nearly three decades, now empowers its most rugged vehicle, bringing together a future-forward drivetrain with a time-tested body-on-frame platform. As the electrified Land Cruiser enters its next chapter, it remains a symbol of capability, reliability, and now, cleaner performance.
