BEEAH and SRTA announce major charging initiative

Network will provide easy and convenient access to charging facilities, particularly in key commercial and urban areas

The Sharjah Roads and Transport Authority (SRTA) and BEEAH are set to deploy and operate a comprehensive electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure across the Emirate of Sharjah, encompassing both the city and coastal regions.

This collaboration was recently solidified during a meeting between His Excellency Dr. Eng. Yousif Khamis Mohamed Alathmane, Chairman of SRTA, and Khaled Al Huraimel, Group CEO and Vice Chairman of BEEAH, along with senior executives, at BEEAH Headquarters.

The initiative positions Sharjah as a regional leader in sustainability, with plans to install hundreds of EV chargers in strategic locations across the emirate, including highways and various districts.

This network will provide easy and convenient access to charging facilities, particularly in key commercial and urban areas, and will feature fast chargers to enhance the existing EV infrastructure. This development is expected to encourage the public to transition to electric vehicles, offering greater convenience and reducing range anxiety.
