Chevrolet: We had an electric year in the Middle East

Chevrolet launches four new electrified vehicles in under a year, powering a new era of everyday driving in the Middle East

Chevrolet Middle East says it has accelerated its regional electrification strategy with the launch of four new electrified models in less than twelve months. One of the brand’s fastest and most ambitious product transformations to date.

The new lineup spans the Spark EUV, Equinox EV, Captiva EV and Captiva Plug-in Hybrid (PHEV), offering Middle East drivers a wider range of affordable, accessible and lifestyle-ready electric mobility options. Chevrolet says the rollout underscores its commitment to delivering “innovation to everyone, everywhere, every day”.

Spark EUV: Compact, personality-driven electric mobility

Leading the charge is the Spark EUV, positioned as one of the most attainable electric vehicles (EVs) in its class. The city-focused model delivers 101 hp, 180 Nm of torque and up to 360 km of driving range (NEDC). Drivers can recharge via home charging options or top up 50 km of range in 10 minutes using a 50 kW DC fast charger.

Chevrolet is also targeting younger first-time buyers with five themed styling kits including Retro, Gaming and Adventure. The model is priced from AED 79,900 including VAT and comes with a 3-year/100,000 km vehicle warranty and an 8-year/160,000 km battery warranty.

Equinox EV: Reimagining Chevrolet’s core SUV

The new Equinox EV enters the market as a fully electric, family-friendly SUV built around space, technology and long-range capability. With a 17.7-inch infotainment screen, Google Built-In, in-vehicle Wi-Fi and Chevy Safety Assist, the model aims to modernise Chevrolet’s mainstream SUV offering.

Powered by a 213 hp electric motor generating 320 Nm of torque, the Equinox EV delivers an estimated 513 km of range. Fast charging adds up to 113 km in 10 minutes. Prices start from AED 169,900 across the UAE, KSA, Bahrain and Kuwait.

Captiva expands its portfolio with EV and PHEV variants

Chevrolet’s popular Captiva nameplate now includes fully electric and plug-in hybrid options, both designed to retain the model’s value-driven family appeal.

The Captiva PHEV combines a single electric motor, a 1.5-litre engine and a 20.5 kW battery to produce over 201 hp and a combined driving range of up to 1,000 km. Charging options include Level 1 home charging, Level 2 AC charging and DC fast charging up to 24 kW.

The Captiva EV, meanwhile, produces 201 hp and offers an estimated 415 km of electric range. DC fast charging enables an 80% charge in 45 minutes or a 75 km boost in 10 minutes. Prices start at AED 104,900 for the PHEV and AED 109,900 for the EV, both including warranties and portable charging cords.

Built for regional conditions

Furrukh Jawaid, Chief Marketing Officer, General Motors Middle East & Africa, said: “At Chevrolet, our mission has always been to build vehicles that fit every purse, every purpose, and every journey. With four new models now on the road, we’re giving our customers more ways to move, live and connect – combining technology, design and performance with the added benefit of electrification.”

He added: “What hasn’t changed is the foundation it’s all built on – the trust and confidence our customers have placed in Chevrolet for generations.”

Chevrolet says the new electrified models have been adapted to regional driving conditions, tested in desert environments and supported by a network of aftersales and dealer partners across the Middle East.
