Dubai Taxi Company and University of Dubai Graduate first cohort in sustainable operations programme

Strategic collaboration empowers DTC employees with sustainability and operations leadership skills

Dubai Taxi Company PJSC (DTC) has celebrated the graduation of its first cohort of employees from the newly launched Professional Diploma in Sustainable Operations Management.

Developed and delivered in partnership with the Center for Executive Development at the University of Dubai, the CILT and KHDA-accredited programme marks a major milestone in DTC’s mission to invest in talent and build a future-ready workforce.

The 11-month diploma was designed to equip participants with advanced capabilities in sustainability-focused operational excellence, including strategic planning, resource optimisation, and data-led decision-making. Graduates of the course are now better positioned to support DTC’s transition towards smarter, greener, and more efficient mobility solutions.

“This achievement reflects our commitment to nurturing talent, building leadership capacity, and preparing our people to meet the challenges of tomorrow,” said Mansoor Rahma Alfalasi, CEO of Dubai Taxi Company. “At DTC, we believe that investing in our employees is investing in our future.”

The first-of-its-kind programme comprised six modules delivered via a blended format of virtual and in-person sessions, guided learning hours, and individual capstone projects supervised by faculty members from the University of Dubai. The curriculum spanned a broad range of topics including agile leadership, asset management, driver satisfaction, fleet optimisation, and strategic planning.

H.E. Dr Essa Al Bastaki, President of the University of Dubai, underscored the significance of this initiative within the city’s wider economic goals. “In the tourism-led economy of Dubai, the importance of a taxi service cannot be overstated, as it serves as a crucial component in facilitating seamless mobility, supporting the hospitality sector, and enhancing the overall visitor experience. This meant that the managers who are at the helm of day-to-day functioning of transport fleets had to be up to date on all aspects of operations management.”

Graduates reported gaining key competencies in operational efficiency, sustainable business practices, and customer experience management — all of which contribute to DTC’s overarching goal of elevating service quality while enhancing internal processes. DTC also expressed gratitude to the faculty and programme team at the University of Dubai’s Center for Executive Development for their dedication in shaping a dynamic and impactful learning experience.

This collaboration aligns with Dubai’s vision for a knowledge-based and innovation-driven economy and reflects both institutions’ shared commitment to developing local talent and fostering professional growth.
