The Iraqi Ministry of Interior has taken delivery of 18 PM40 fire truck units from SANY, which is a significant international order for the Chinese heavy equipment maker.
The PM40 firetrucks were delivered in February after almost two years of research and coordination, and are anticipated to help with firefighting and rescue operations in central and southern Iraq, where authorities are seeking to improve emergency response capabilities.

Built on MAN chassis
Built on MAN truck chassis, the new firefighting units are intended for tough rescue operations and large-scale fire crises.
Officials said the fleet will boost coverage in major urban and industrial regions, allowing for faster response to fires and accidents.
The delivery is the first large-scale government contract for SANY’s firefighting vehicle business in overseas markets, highlighting the company’s rising position in the global emergency equipment industry.
Iraq’s new trucks are part of a larger initiative to update civil defense equipment and boost disaster response infrastructure.

Ministry seeking improvement
Iraqi authorities have been attempting to improve emergency services recently, as expanding urbanization, industrial growth, and rising temperatures have raised the danger of fires and other disasters.
The Ministry of Interior directs Iraq’s Civil Defense Directorate, which is responsible for firefighting, rescue operations, and disaster response across the nation.
